Actually, if you uploaded this game fic into the HP archive, you'd need to re upload it to the games archive, let me know when you've done that, and I can then transfer over your reviews and ratings, then delete the old story off the wrong subdomain. You can't move it from one subdomain to another, only to other categories within the same subdomain.
-
A couple things, for the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona category, I've not subdivided it further into the different game versions, same with Jagged Alliance. Until we see many stories for them, there's no need to do so at this time. If you've already got a story uploaded in the Misc category that belong in these new categories, you can edit your story to move them to their new homes. B)

We're in the process of doing it a zone (subdomain) at a time. So, if things look a little....weird (right now we're working on the anime zone), it's temporary. Yes, the MAJOR structure changes will be as you see, but by doing what we are, we can actually start splitting down one more level with the more active categories in that zone, meaning the ones with 200 or more stories. As in pair specific type categories, among other things. B) Also, someone had mentioned that we have two categories for Saiyuki, so those will be merged into the Gensomaden Saiyuki category in that zone. Please bear with manta2g and I as we do this work, and understand we cannot get it all done at one time, as we both work full time aside from what we do here.

a question so stupid, it doesn't belong in the FAQ section

Yes, that was put up on the fifth anniversary of the site's existence. -
To me, it's all part of the game. Right now I'm too busy to actually DO anything, but after some projects are cleared up, I'll be able to have at it again, I expect. B). So, I'm dead most of the time when I'm in the forum. Doesn't bother me.......

Poeople Looking For Stories In The Fiction Section.
DemonGoddess replied to greenwizard's topic in UnStories Addressed
Actually we have one. BUT, the announcement has to be made with directions first......LOL -
No, it doesn't happen anymore. That was fixed a few months back.

What I would suggest is that you just edit it to show the year, not the date. The programs are not linked in the user databases. They are two very separate programs, and the way the archive works, it's simply not possible to bridge the one program's member tables into the other. The link to your archive ID is actually a requirement to ensure that those who login to and use the forum, are already members in the archive. To have an archive login is, as you found upon registration, a requirement for approval in the administration validation queue. Yes, I do check the links. The reason behind all of that is that this forum is not what one would consider an open community, like other forums might be. This forum is for AFF users. There are portions of the forum which replace the now defunct Yahoo groups, among other things. Hope that all makes sense to you. The other thing with the age in the forum? If your age is not properly entered into the database upon registration, you cannot access most of the forum. Anyone who registers without their proper birthday info entered in, will find they can ONLY access the guest accessible portions of the forum. Nothing else. I will see what we can do about having an option to hide your birthday information in the archive as well. Considering the age of the script, I'm not entirely sure it's a possibility.
-
As memory serves, it's a default display that starts at >10 minutes to go. So it could mean 1 to 10 minutes if I remember right.

Happy birthday!

This may actually have to do with something we were doing last night to correct a different problem. This will be fixed. -
jeeeez. Revenge flaming???? Something like that ever happens to you (or any other user for that matter) again (if it's here) I can get into the review board if you cannot and DELETE all that crap. That, and I can turn it over the pertinent info to those who would take care of flaming on the archive and have things taken care of on that end as well.
-
hehe it's no prob.

hmmmm.....just checked your settings. You don't have an avatar selected for the forum. To do that, you can either upload or link to one in your user control panel (My Controls). Alternately, you can select one from the gallery in your user control panel.

well, by using paste instead of sauce as the base, you add enough water to thin it to spreadable consistency, cook it long enough to merge the spice flavors into it, and then spread it on yer dough.
-
tomato paste is what you should use to make yer pizza sauce

It's why I was looking at keyword tags as opposed to additional subcategories. It'd be more efficient.
-
I'm not sure if it'd be easier on load to do it that way, or to have it as part of the keywords list, or even an additional keywords list. In any case, it's certainly worth looking at.

even tho parts of 'em are ....errrhmm... dead... I'd have to say erotica because of the subject. *snickers*

There is a fix for the DST weirdness, where the changed date for start of daylight savings time is causing problems. I've only applied it partially, as when I did it completely (even with re-modding the files that were being uploaded) it caused a driver error for the database. So I had to undo part of it. Until the people who wrote the battle mod tell me how to fix that part with the new version of the file I have to upload, it's going to stay a partial fix.

We get that anyway unfortunately, even without the ability to reply to a review. You have a couple options of course to begin with. First is to delete the flame from your review board. YOUR story, you do not have to put up with that kind of bs. Second would be to report the flame, and as long as that user is logged in, we can do something. We cannot about the anons a this point in time. The anons you just gotta delete. Down the road though, we will be able to do more. I may not write, but it irritates me no end to find reviews in a section where obviously the content is not something for everyone's particular reading tastes. I mean jeez, click a slash category and then flame the stories BECAUSE they contain slash?? That happens all over, but it's obvious what that flamer is doing isn't it? Another particular favorite of mine is where an author CLEARLY states the story is AU, and gets flamed BECAUSE it's AU.

we're talkinga bout apples and oranges. The categories in discussion are in the FICTION PORTAL, not the forum. As to Anime and Cartoons, they are indeed separate categories. Anime is animated stuff based on Japanese manga and sometimes books, cartoons, are primarily American in origin and most of the time based off comic books. The forum itself is actually easy to administer, whereas the fiction portal is....problematic at best at the moment. No tools to speak of, because it wasn't written that way, so any tools to do any sort of common functions like moving stuff have to be written . Good thing is, all that is being done. Bad thing is, the tools take time to write so they don't thoroughly gum up the works and end up doing something unexpected, which could cause all kinds of problems. Further, (using the move tool as an example) since certain of the fields are unique within the subdomain and table they're currently in, they are NOT unique across the database. So, there is alot of work to be done to make it so they are before being able to say, move a story and all its data from one subdomain and its tables to another.
