What color would Rudolf Red Nosed Raindeer's nose be after he drinks a bottle of Tequilla?
No fair, you are posting too fast; the question above is for "purpleish"
Er, I gave him that bottle.

It was my evil twin.

Thanks, Nanaea!
This brings me to another question: Does changing the member group association give any extra options or it's more like honorary title sort of thing?

What are "Lemmings" and why do we need them?

Orgy is a different ball game, everybody agreed to be in it, so it's fun. Orgy members are all writing their own Orgy chapters and communicating on discussion boards. It's the same with Mary-Sue Virus, right? So these things are pretty normal to me.
Celebrities never agreed to their names being used that way, though.

I was replying to Pixagi's topic called: Self-Insertion *cough, cough* and it got me thinking.
in my mind there is a line between Fantasy and Reality. For example, I love HP Fanfiction about Harry and Draco but not Fanfiction about Daniel and Tom Felton. (That would make a great Poll!)Quoting myself, yeah
The other day I was reading some fiction on LJ and came across a fic about Bill Kaulitz (front man of Tokio Hotel) and Gackt. In the story, Bill gives Gackt his virginity and Gackt bites him and turns him into a vampire. That story was well written but it gave me this creepy feeling. They ARE real people, after all; Bill is going to be 18 in September.
At the same time, I would of loved to read a similar plot about Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy, for example. (Not about Daniel and Tom, though). I would of liked the same fic about Fictitious members of Fictitious bands as well.
It feels wrong to me to slash Real People. (Or to write any sort of pairings about them, really)
Many authors feel differently about that and write about actors, sport stars, band members etc. I'd like to know their views on the topic
IS THERE A LINE BETWEEN FANTASY AND REALITY? AND WHERE IS IT EXACTLY?
EDIT: I'd like to specify that all Original Characters fall in the category of Fantasy.

I HAVE been in love. So, when writing romance, a good amount of my own remembered/current emotions go into the story, if not the exact situations themselves.
You are talking about gaining experience as a person here. Writers are people and their writing IS based on their personal experiences and lessons learned. In that context, "write what you know" is correct.

Hi, Honey! May I sample your muffins?
I don't really want to explain THAT!

Is your mind as dirty as mine, or are you laughing about something else?
Well...
Thinking really hard...
...
...
Yeah, it is at least as dirty (or, possibly even dirtier)!

Self-Insertion?
Pixagi, that made me laugh.
This is a continuation of Mary-Sue/Joe-Stew topic, isn't it?
I think that it's just a stage people go through and there is nothing wrong with it. Inserting self into the story or a movie could be fun.
Personally I probably wouldn't do it, because in my mind there is a line between Fantasy and Reality. For example, I love HP Fanfiction about Harry and Draco but not Fanfiction about Daniel and Tom Felton. (That would make a great Poll!) They are real people and so am I.
So, no self-insertion for me.
I am OK with other people doing it, though. Life is a playground, after all.

It's probably different for different people. Some people are exibitionists, they would actually enjoy sharing their private lives with readers.
Personally, I never even kept a Personal Journal, so it's not likely that any of my stories would contain blow-by-blow personal accounts or conversations. I'd get really pissed off if my ex wrote and posted anything of personal nature. He doesn't write, thankfully
On another hand, ANYTHING we write does represent ourselves, made-up or not. Sure, I have Draco talking to Pansy in the story, but, well, isn't it like Myself talking to Myself inside my own head? Because there is no Draco. Or Pansy.
As for "write what you know," well, I don't know about dragons or magic or time travel. Noone does, ha. I believe in: "write what ever the heck you please" theory.

Pretty good, exept wasn't there a prophecy made what one of them is supposed to kill another?

Do you think we all will go to Hell for writing Adult Fiction? *sob*
I got that word from the Concise English Dictionary.

Are you saying that's not a big deal just because you are sleepeating?
That's beside the point.
