  1. adding men = conflict conflict = good Unless you're not into the love triangle thing. But putting men in there doesn't mean you need to write M/F scenes. Maybe it's just male characters that pine for the female leads or try to force themselves on the protagonists. Conflict is always a great way to extend a story line and make it interesting.
  2. I recall reading said guide a while back, although I can no longer remember it in its entirety. It's not as difficult as one might imagine to avoid making a Mary Sue. As long as you instill some form of personality into the character and really put emphasis on it you should be fine. The first thing to do is to choose a general motif (submissive/dominant) then branch off of it (submissive-quiet or begging, dominant- pushy or overpowering) then put more facets on it (etiquette- vulgar or eloquent or mainstream). Whenever a situation comes up that requires participation or dialogue for the character just use your concocted checking list to see if what they're saying is in character or not. The only real way you can create a Mary Sue is if you view the character as a prop to the story and neglect to breath some individuality/life into him/her. Of course, that's just my two cents. I can't be the judge of whether my characters on AFF are all stereotypical or not, or if they're bland and Mary Sue-like. That's for the reader's to decide, really.
  3. yup, my thoughts exactly. All of my fanfiction entails rape. Doesn't mean I condone of it or intend to commit it. Just means that as an art form I find it erotically stimulating. Tentacles? totally hot, but face it, there's no species on earth as of now that could qualify for the a tentacle rape super special. These are all inventions of the sordid human mind ( like yours truly) mean for entertainment.
  4. banner ads are whatever they think would entice the forum populace the most. My highschool had a writers forum for a bit (degenerated into a chatroom really) and we managed to manipulate the ads by all plugging in the same word into our posts, even if they didnt' make sense (e.g paintball, condoms). It was good fun... on topic though. People write and read these fiction because it turns them on. If I get turned on by rape fiction so be it. I'd never fathom actually raping someone, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying non-con. In fact I write almost exclusively non-con despite having no firsthand knowledge or even second hand knowledge of what it's like in real life. The same thing goes for porn. We all know sex in the real world is seldom like how they do it in the pornos but we still find it arousing and many of us are avid supporters of the porn industry. Gotta leave a little to the imagination, if you get my drift. Creative Freedom FTW.
  5. I'm a guy, and I think the biggest factor in AFF having more girls than guys is because guys tend to want to see their fantasies being played out via porn flicks, hentai manga/anime and the like. Girls probably make up for a larger portion of most readerships even when not taking BDSM or sexual motifs into account. Judging from the amount of Yaoi and Yuri here on AFF it's not hard to see why girls are so strong in numbers. There has to be a motivation for being on AFF, like for me it was because having things down in writing leaves a lot to to the imagination, which I personally like. It's also because there are some things that you can write in AFF that will never EVER be made into a hentai anime or, god forbid, a big budget porno flick with decent acting and good production values (one can dream). I suppose that's why I write out all my fantasies and post them in AFF.
  6. I agree with OP about the inclusion of a review reply mechanism, but if it's not technically feasible, I guess we'll have to make do with what we got. Here's how I try to keep in touch with reviewers: If the reviewer has written stories on AFF I tend to review their story, give my input and thank them for reviewing my stories while I'm at it. For some of my longer stories I include a snippet at the beginning of each new chapter where I could respond to reviews that I found to be constructive, as well as ask for ideas and suggestions from my readers. I find it a really big motivation to continue writing due to all the positive support I get. I understand that some people would think that this breaks the flow of the story, and I do try marking the point where musings end and story begins very clearing with Chapter name and a line of asterix. Emails: less common but I've actually struck up long term email conversations with a few of my readers. I think if, as an author you would like to be able to respond to your reviewers ask them to leave their emails in the review so you could reply.
  7. lol, good to see there are veterans of life hanging around here XD, makes my 20 year old self seems like small fry... respect to the people who's managed to only ever have had sex with their wife/husband...a hard feat to accomplish in this day and age... me..well...I finally fired Rosy and her five sisters last month XD, so we all know what that means
  8. Category Request: Mass Effect (Videogames) here's my first fic for that catagory: http://games.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600082388
  9. Title: The Reality of Eden Prime Author: Morbidfantasy Rating: Adult++ Summary: Ever wonder why Ashley Williams was able to survive on her own during the Geth massacre of her Eden Prime Garrison? Or why a talented soldier like her was there in the first place and not promoted to something better? We know that her grandfather cast a bad rep on their family name when he surrendered at Shanxi, but that can't be the sole reason for Ashley's transfer to the backwater Eden Prime. Story takes place a few months before Ashley meets Shepard during the ME game. It explores a possibility of a darker history pertaining to how she came to be there, how she managed to survive, and what she had to endure. Feedback: reviews, suggestions, corrections and flames are all welcome, just so that I know people are paying attention. Fandom: eh..not sure what this is...I'm new here, someone tell me what the heck is this... URL: http://games.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600082388 Hey everyone. I've been a member of AFF for almost two years now, and joined forum last year, but have yet to post anything here. Here's the premise of my new fic, The Reality of Eden Prime: Warning: I almost exclusively devote my writing to rape fics, but I think for those of you who dig that stuff, you'll definitely like it. Please read the story and don't forget to review, because I love reviews. And also read my other fics if you haven't already. I think they're rather popular themselves.
