i figure. that could work. or a claw-gauntlet.

The claw idea has merit… though do you mean a gauntlet with a metal claw projecting from it like a sword blade projects from the katar or pata, or an articulated gauntlet with daggers on finger tips?

yes, in fact they showed her following proper gun safety down to the details in every following episode.

    gargoyles was great writing

Its been many a moon since I’ve watched the show, I honestly couldn’t recall to the first, and for lack of a more eloquent response… yep to the second

An idea considering Aza has occurred to me, what if as a nod to Azog’s missing limb and sword prosthetic is ‘Battle of the Five Armies’ Aza wielded a mace in one hand, and a weapon similar to the Indian katar or pata with the other?

… That’s Indian as in ‘the subcontinent’, not as in ‘Native Americans misnamed by a navigationally challenged Spaniard’...

if we go the paladin route for eliza. i mean she WAS quite the marksman. or maybe she has a pistol like zarina

This would be a possibility… though did they ever show Eliza’s gun being fired besides the episode where Broadway shoots her, for the worth while lesson of ‘guns are not toys!’? I honestly don’t recall...

hmmm… that does seem good, but we could have tauri half-heatedly trying to play along with the archery discussion. or snow actually learn it. arre there any other archers? rapunzel and anna seem like they’d try, and cassandra probably knows archery

I admit Cassandra slipped my mind, but can’t think of any others off the top of my head...

no, likely because of his face.

well, he could adopt ingrid after. it’s a good running gag, and if we wait to reveal who ingrid is she makes a good exception. plus having bonded with the others it makes some nice potential for interactions once she, and they, learn what she did. though i wouldn’t have her remember her sister right away, she probably didn’t know what happened and her children would be the bigger priority.

Fair enough to both… though now I’m struck by the idea of Merida, Lura, and Tauri if I make her her own character instead of Grimhilde’s disguise bonding over archery

how about this? Idunna has to leave on the ship and have her accident, so she should probably be the one to wash up at the tower (probably with ariel’s help), but we can still have Ingrid become a hermit and helga marrying the duke. she could be egging him on, trying to take back what’s ‘hers’.

I’d have Ingrid be a late-game introduction though, like on the way back to save elsa. hint at her a bunch though

ingrid and idunna could bond over their exiles

Aza nudity is hilarious. maybe the orcs consider warpaint a kind of clothing (hence the stripes). we could also have hiccup struggle to comprhend the battle strategy until he realises he can’t look at her so he can’t fight. also, fun fact, the celts did something similar, so maybe merida has similar ideas

The Ingrid/Iduna idea could work, I just thought the running gag (if two times can be called that) of Hiccup, as Grimhilde might say, “adopting strays”, first Zarina then Ingrid, that had been chased (so to speak) from their homes for being different, a fact he could relate to due to Mildew’s attempted killing of him, would be amusing/slightly sweet

I admit the distraction value had not occurred to me, though I admit I had technically not envisioned her nude, but wearing only a loin cloth and something similar to a bikini top, similar to Azog’s outfit of only a loin cloth…

Idle curiosity, but have you happened to find any ‘fem Lurtz’ pictures? I have attempted, but drawn a blank...

  7. 1 minute ago, Strange_idea said:

while this is a workable idea, we don’t have a lot of character to work with for ingrid, and idunna is a lot less sympathetic here, plus she wouldn’t bond with elsa so much and ingrid wouldn;t have the maternal experience idunna does.

what if ingrid ran away like elsa did, and comes back after seeing elsa’s castle? then the sisters bond again.

That is a fair suggestion, though to make myself clear I wasn’t intending to include the ‘kinslaying by way of angry outburst’ in my story, Ingrid would have left her sisters out of fear of such a thing happening, thinking they’d be better off without her, which Iduna and Helga would have vehemently argued against had they been given the chance

    Just now, Strange_idea said:

or, she ran away and became a hermit,  and was captured by the empire when they came. elsa ran away inspired by the stories of the ‘witch’ but didn’t think she was real.

also, given she’s immune to col and probably doesn’t have a tailor, what if she’s a snow-nudist?

The idea of Ingrid as a hermit had occurred to me, eventually hearing of the Empire’s occupation of Arendelle, and marching to do something about it, incidentally crossing paths with Hiccup’s forces as they march with the same objective, and Hiccup wouldn’t be one to turn down extra muscle on the eve of battle, but then you suggested the peace conference idea, which seemed a good one…

On the topic of nudity, I have been struck by a thought about Hiccup and Aza’s duel…

If Aza were to go into combat as unarmored as her ‘canon’ counterpart, what if Hiccup was torn between mocking her lack of armour, or being genuinely and vocally concerned he was potentially assisting a suicide attempt, considering that an entirely different matter than just killing someone in battle?

  8. Eh, is no problem and let me know what ye think of it… though to point out the obvious I am not anyway near skilled enough to have drawn it

Been struck by an idea to combine your ‘Hiccup rescues a shipwrecked queen Iduna’ and my passing thought of including Iduna’s two siblings from ‘Once Upon a Time’, which I have never watched…

What if the sibling that Hiccup rescued/offered refuge to was Ingrid, who sent herself into exile due to her ice powers, and Hiccup instead encountered Iduna at the peace conference in Arendelle, with Helga attending as the wife of the Duke of Weselton, who in the show was apparently her fiance before her death… which he caused by using her as a human shield after deliberately provoking Ingrid into lashing out trying to prove she had powers and was dangerous...

well the minions aren’t exactly clever, so oculdn’t teach him that much, and there aren’t too many sentients around the castle. plus the sorceresses would have to avoid SOME traumas.

and just because something’s ‘normal’ doesn;t make it appealing, or any less disturbing

I mostly meant living people and babies, but yeah, that too.

    This is a fair point…

Jumping topic again, and flipping what usually happens, but this time I have found a picture pertaining to an idea… I admit I don’t know how to put a link on here, but if you go to deviantart and search ‘fem Azog’ it should be one of the first results

  10. 15 minutes ago, Strange_idea said:

and hiccup’s ire. he DEFINITLY cannot.

you could have him repeatedly have to draw lines at what gets carried away for food

That possibility had not occurred to me, I had assumed that being raised in no small part by the Minions, Hiccup would have assumed eating the flesh of sentient creatures would be normal...

  11. 7 minutes ago, Strange_idea said:

The gist idea was that maleficent turned toothless human to be a friend for hiccup and they wound up falling in love, but when he set out she turned her back into a dragon to protect him and keep him safe with the reward that if she managed, toothless would be able to change at will. when hiccup found out his best friend and first love had always been with him he asked her to marry him. I could find the post if you like, you said it was a good idea.

Pardon me for suggesting this, i really don’t want to be rude, but we both seem to forget things, so it might be a good idea to go back and re-read the chat

I like those two suggestions, and to make it work even better, what if hiccup entered the tower through the minion hives after it got taken over? i’d suggest individual hive connected via tunnels, since they seem to follow him around. but the minions squabble and kick each other out of their own hives.

I think I might recall the idea now that ye explain it a bit, and is no problem to the concern of rudeness

The idea of Hiccup entering the Tower through the hive has merit, though I admit I was talking less about the cavern the Minions dwell in than the physical objects you collect in the game to allow Minion spawning, since the majority of their role would be taken over by the queen Minions…

Though now I’m struck by the thought of ‘as beings literally designed for war, what if the Minions could digest anything that could loosely be termed food, possibly including the flesh of slain enemies?..’ and then the thought of the Minions trying to pass that particular tradition on to Hiccup, much to the sorceresses’ dismay/ire...

  12. 3 minutes ago, Strange_idea said:

true, but that would derail the ‘malefient’s gift to toothless’ plotline idea.

but we can work with that. what if it was ‘forgotten knowledge’ and valka uncovered it and shared it with her dragons, similar to how she knew more than hiccup in the films. she uncovered the ancient secret, and hiccup helps her share it with the rest of the dragons under his rule.

hmmm… also remember ho is uggested toothless be the one to release her? what what if she shoes up a few times, but TOOTHLESS, not hiccup is the one to encounter her, so she hears about hiccup that way and plants the idea in cloudjumper’s head. plus she builds respect for her future queen/lover/daughter-in-law

I admit I don’t recall and idea concerning Maleficent giving Toothless a gift, though I suppose those two idea could work… though could something become lost knowledge if it was an instinctual part of their genus/species?..

Jumping topic, but I have been struck by two ideas concerning infrastructure details…

    1. Given the idea of including a queen caste of Minions that lays eggs, relegating the hives’ purpose to producing a slim analogous to honey that the larval MInions feed on, should each tribe have its own hive, or should there just be one big one?

    2. Given that as living creatures, both Hiccup and the Minions would need to eat, what if the Minions had ranches that raised giant beetles, capybara sized rats, and giant slugs, as well as farms that raised mushrooms, both as food and livestock fodder?

  13. 4 minutes ago, Strange_idea said:

okay, but i do feel that she could have been useful to have appear early a few times. you remember the jotaan prisoner idea? it’s okay if you din;t want that, but it could be useful for hiccup/toothless devlopment and help explain her bond

one thing we have to include though, is a way for cloudjumper to be a ‘dragon girl’

I admit I had planned to follow the movies’ plot on this one, with Hiccup not encountering Valka until he’s an adult

As for how Cloudjumper could be a dragon girl… my plan had been for dragons to be natural shape shifters, and Cloudjumper being a girl… two points borrowed from ‘booblover’s’ adult HTTYD challenge...

  14. Just now, bwm1013 said:

Oh. I’m sorry. To be honest, I actually don’t like HTTYD. The only movie from DreamWorks I like is Shrek. Not that HTTYD is bad. I just found it somewhat overrated.

Not to sound rude, but why are you on this thread then?..  I am legitimately confused...

  15. 8 minutes ago, Strange_idea said:

    hmm...... that's a good idea.

would this be for the ‘widow grief’ thing, or even earlier? it could be used to help explain why she asked him to lay with her in grief. and make it even more awkward after. Cloudjumper could just be trying to help her with her stress and help her get over stoik, which makes her feel worse when he dies

Stress relief had been my main idea for Cloudjumper’s reasoning, with a bit of greif dealing with, since my plan had been for Hiccup to encounter Valka after Stoick’s death...

  16. 7 hours ago, Strange_idea said:

Though itnprobably would be better to age them up a bit, or at least have the enhacement age them a little.

That had been the general plan.

Idea for how Hiccup and Valka could end up sleeping with each other…

What if Cloudjumper was female in this story, and she and Valka were ‘close friends’? Then what if Cloudjumper decided Valka needed to get laid, and picked Hiccup as the best candidate to do such, facilitating this by dragging Valka into Hiccup’s room for a make out session when she know Hiccup is heading there, flustering Hiccup enough that he joins in when Cloudjumper invites him, but focuses his attention on her, only for Cloudjumper to persuade/trick the two Haddocks to turn on each other in the heat of the moment?

One of the reasons she's been immortally wandering. Most of the disney girl's canon ages would make things awkwars.

This is true… and I suppose I could just say “Its my story, they’re what age I say they are”

  18. 2 minutes ago, Strange_idea said:

That works. Though i imagine they'd be less insane without the cataclysm or with snow's influmec. When he meeta them without her i can imag8ne him wishing she'd be there to cslm them down.

Thought, she doesn't have them when he first rescue her, thinks she's just olayibg at being him when she first brings them up and his guardians (probabky Grimhilde) express that opinion. Hiccup likely wouldn't have seen a gnome before.

Although i can see him catching one for study and losing it in the tower.

Part of the 'corruption' cpuld be her losing control of the gnomes to the maddening magics of everlight junglr.

That is a good point, though now I recall reading that according to the people who made the movie that Snow is supposed to be 13/14 years old...

  19. 10 minutes ago, Strange_idea said:

And it could be used for some self-reflection.

Had an idea. What if, as 'light' overlord, snow uses gnomes as minions?

Aye, perhaps something along the lines of “If I didn’t have the village to care about, I’d have probably turned out the same way.”

Oh those are annoying little creatures in the game… might use that as another reason for Hiccup not to trust her at first “Anyone that can command the allegiance of such irritating creatures can not possibly be a worthwhile ally.”

  20. Just now, Strange_idea said:

It can work. You juat need to be careful

Granted, if the story ever got to the point of Hiccup meeting Drago, while Hiccup might object, to himself at least, to acually mistreating the dragons as opposed to merely disciplining them, his main objection would probably be if Drago turned his army towards Berk
