Jeeves and Albert in bodies....makes me think of an extremely intellectual Robin Williams and Nathan Lane in The Birdcage. That has the potential for some hilarious banter.

So, for those who can't wait
One word, body armor, ok I guess that's two words, well 12 now, and a number...and more words...
But....
“Yeah, barely.” Max snorted, “We gotta get…” Max spun around as his words were cut off by three gunshots that were painfully loud in the confined space, swearing as he watched Hans slumped limply to the floor, leaving a streak of blood on the old brick wall.
Leaving a streak of blood on the wall tells me the shot went through. It doesn't say which part of his body so I was assuming his head or neck.....something NOT protected by armor. Will be VERY happy to have assumed incorrectly.

OK, gotta admit...I shed a tear for Hans. Thanks for not making the Pope a bad guy but Max will still get the blame for killing him, I expect...regardless of what the young guy tells the authorities. It will be interesting to see if this makes Max a marked man. Hoping he proves to the world that Artemis was the bad guy in all of this but I guess we'll see.

Definitely NOT too much sex! The story is so good that some people may want to skip the sex just to find out what happens as quickly as possible but the sex helps set the stage and allows things to build. First, and foremost, this IS a love story. I think it's perfect just the way it is.so, too much sex in the last one? Had a request to tone it down and stay with the story line...what do you guys think?
Always leave them wanting more....

A little late to the party for GITG 48 but I, too, LOVE the backstory character development. While I'm a huge fan of the action chapters, variety IS the spice of life and these kinds of chapters are not only well-written but just a pleasure to read. Once again, beautifully done!

Well I guess that the end is coming. Max is in the Vacatin with no armor and no back up and now has been hit on the head and knocked out. Who are you going to have come to his rescue this time. because the swiss guards do not take names when they kick your butt.
Guess that we will have to see how he gets out of this one.
Yeah, this cliffhanger looks like a good place to start Book 3. Hopefully, Hans is close by otherwise, the Twins, Amy and Alice will be mounting a rescue mission. I'm wondering if the Twins managed to stow away with Hans and really are close by. Dying to read what comes next!

I just skipped the whole boring flight from the ranch to the sub to get things moving along. There was the potential for a funny scene with Petra's fear of flying but I think the story was getting a bit bogged down
Maybe you can have Emma recount the scene to Max in the next chapter. You can never have too much funny.

Alan is gonna be messed up for a bit. Not sure if he will try to get revenge on Amanda or Jack but he will probably have a hard time keeping what is bothering him from the parents and that could potentially open up a whole new can of worms.
This saga might get a lot worse before it gets better.

I'm here too maybe his computer blew up again that's why he can't contact us. I hope it's something as simple as that.
If that were the case, I think he'd use his phone to let us know that. I'm hoping he's simply been sent on a "mission" and it's not something worse.

Honestly I can not figure where he was going in/with this one.
When I have no idea or prediction, that is when reading is the most fun for me. I figure most writers out quick. That is what comes from writing according to the rules.
This could actually bring Kayla and Amanda closer together. I don't think Amanda is in love with Jack but she IS in love with the idea of Jack. Kayla could work with Jack to get Alan to step up his game in a non-sexual way and that would eventually get Alan and Amanda even closer. Then again, I haven't figured out Joe yet so why would I get it right now?

You're still young. You'll find your niche eventually. Everybody is different so don't be so hard on yourself. Find something you like and dig in.

If you look closer I think you will find that May is spending more time with Rick than with Marge. So I think that having Marge and Max get together permanently makes sense.
Rick and May are spending time together because of the mission to rescue Catherine and Mel. Once they get back home, Rick is with Suzy and May is with Marge even though they "share".

WOW! Seems to me like everyone is selling Emma a little short. If push came to shove, I think Max and Emma would choose each other in a heartbeat. I don't think loving others lessens that for either of them. Then again, I've always been partial to redheads so maybe I'm a little biased.
I always pictured Emma looking something like this:

Emma is pregnant with Max's twin girls. He's NOT gonna leave her. Max, Emma, Amy and Alice pretty much taught each other how to love and they have a LOT of love to give. Nothing wrong with sharing the wealth. Besides, Emma has raging hormones. With Max away, she HAS to find an outlet!

I'm jonesing a bit myself. I'm guessing The Man is still trying to work out the odds and ends of painting himself into a corner with the "school starting in three days" thing along with balancing all the other storylines. The story has gotten almost too big for its britches so I'm thinking some chapters are just going to have to be whittled down to one or two storylines instead of including them all. Then again, with Magus you just never know!

These stories are a form of escape for most of us. This is your story and you have every right to write it how you want. It really is as simple as that. The ONLY formula you need to follow is the one in your head.
Being OUR escape, we naturally have a vested interest in where the story leads and we all have opinions on what we'd like to see. We may like or dislike turns the story takes but that parallels life. Bitching about the paths you take is going to happen but they need to remember the bottom line. It's YOUR story, Joe and if they don't like it, they can go read something else.

SOMEBODY besides Volstok had to know Max would show up at the Dacha to rescue Catherine and Mel. I can't believe the David and Cynthia lookalikes being there was a coincidence.
Perhaps David really is alive and Jeeves is being monitored remotely so he's an unwitting mole. We still haven't had the interrogation of faux David/Umstead so I have a feeling he may be where the answer lies. I doubt he's the mastermind though. The mastermind wouldn't expose himself to Max directly.

Meh. As far as I'm concerned, Becca is talking out the side of her neck. Jack was already suffering when he told Craig. What Craig does with the info is all on him. Jack probably should have told her he understood she wanted to protect Craig but that she's full of shit. I'm also surprised Kayla didn't defend Jack and say, "Just try it sister" or something to that effect. Making stupid threats is a good way to end a would-be friendship.

I was thinking about a side trip to Alaska where Marge and Emma meet them in the C-130's while Rick and May bring the kids back in the sub.
That sounds like a plan! If Sarah Palin can see Russia from her house, surely Alaska is a hop, skip and jump away. With all his money, Max can surely find a quick way home from there.
