Sunburns are good things, happy things, ought to make you feel good.
So, no, positive thinking can’t overcome everything.

… What cream if I may ask? I’m not allergic to aloe but I’d rather have a backup option.
-
Vaseline’s “Advance Repair” for skin, sort of helps, for a couple of hours. (It’s what I had in the cabinet w/o having to go anywhere.)

Yeah, that summer I went windsurfing, every day afterwards I had sunburn in places I didn’t know the sun could even fall. Once I got home I’d just cover myself in whatever aloe vera or skin-care remedies were to hand and then flop down onto my bed for an hour or so until I stopped feeling like I’d been in the oven for too long.

Thanksgiving turkey recap: It was tasty/delicious, didn’t bother with gravy based on the QA taste test
Being single & celebrating by myself, I opted for a turkey breast (which is less than a full bird). Started this on Monday, when I let the thing soak in a bath of orange juice mixed with sugar, salt, & spices. Yesterday, fired up the propane meat smoker, used cherry wood chips, let it sit for four hours inside. (Also had some chicken thighs along for extra meat to enjoy later.) Only mistake, didn’t fully dump all the OJ bath out, so it was still in the cavity at hour three, dumped that then … so at that exact spot, it was a tad under cooked despite the rest being well-done (I’ll get it with the microwave on leftovers).
All in all, quite pleased with how it turned out. Quite moist, tender, and bursting in flavor with every bite, hence the decision to skip the hassle over gravy. Carcass is now in the freezer, I’ll take it out once I’m inthe mood for turkey soup.

Turkey breast would’ve fed a small family’s feast w/o an issue, and way less effort than a full bird
-
But I like the whole bird…
Actually, for a family dinner, a turkey breast is fine. It’s just not quite Thanksgiving for me.
-
A whole bird would be nice, gotta admit, but then I’m one mouth, and that’d be a month of leftover turkey...gets old after awhile. So, considering all angles, made the right choice IMO. (Of course, having family living closer to go and join, that’d be even better, TBH.)

The Repair Guy made 3k dragon prints today,
-
Congrats
-
Overall, quite pleased, because I made a bit of an experiment with “the repair guy”, writing it faster, shorter chapters, and trying to overdo the proofreading, which turned out to be perfect for what I consider to be a backstory. I managed to write/post 80kwords in 70 days with the weekends being the productive time for it.

Today really, really sucks. Lost a cat today

Sorry to hear. . I know the feeling all too well. .

I’m going to try to focus a bit on writing, see if that helps at all. I did visit a friend last night on the way home, simply because I knew I couldn’t hold it together. That did help. But then, get home, and, well, cat’s no longer here. I generally don’t cry, rarely get emotional, but this time … it’s a very raw, very real wound

btw, the next Jefferey episode might start off a bit dark….

While I know @DemonGoddess only gets two (if her employer actually honors its), I didn’t want to rub in that I’m now on a nine day weekend….
On the plus side, I’ve already got a little incest scene written for my potter fanfic…

Or work on the harry potter fanfic. Though I’ll likely switch to that shortly. I’ve got something in mind.

Whats the pairing?

Harry/Muggle and Ron/Hermione. In the “adult” version that I’m working on as I re-read/revise, I cross the streams, add a touch of a more polygamous four-way, Harry/Ron/Hermione/Muggle, while keeping Ron/Hermione and Harry/Muggle as the primaries. It’s AU, post-GoF, but a 6th/7th year story, sequel to the 5th year story… and that 5th year was inspired by another fanfic, which is why I haven’t posted them here. After years in “hiatus”, I do kinda wonder what the fans would think by a sudden revival

It was Snape's fault, definitely Snape's fault. He forced me to sample my own potion during class, and there were... side-effects. Madam Pomfrey wasn't able to fully sort me out.

To summarize: Brilliant idiot doesn’t file the serial numbers off his 8-part fanfiction, copyrights it as he pesters the Tolkien estate with manuscripts. When Amazon/Tolkien release “rings of power”, he finds an unscrupulous lawyer willing to take his money to file a $250M lawsuit against Amazon/Tolkien claiming copyright infringement for “stealing” bits of his series. Extra surprise, his first “book” got delisted by Amazon, gee, I wonder why?

Wow, 4kwords so far today, maybe my muse is returning in time for 2017? One quote from it, “Interviews ought to be easy for somebody who deliberately lost his virginity for the benefit of the entire school.”

Just wrote this and had to share…. “Good thing that’s not Pinocchio's dick, no room for lies.”

"Pengu" I like that term, makes me think that I stepped into something I'd rather wish I hadn't.

Any “foolproof” plan just hasn’t met a big enough fool.

Absolutely, @GeorgeGlass!

Also, the ability to make a plan “foolproof” is always outstripped by the Universe’s evolution of fools.

Nope, not good, it’s basically end of life. I think it was installed in the 70’s, so the service guy thought it was good life for it, but still, need to replace it.
-
Yes, I would say you’ve gotten your use of it. Hopefully, it won’t cost too awful much.
-
Well, most of that use was incurred by previous owners! (I’ve only had the house for seven years.)
