I’m not a huge MMORPG gamer, preferring my standalone games, but I do play one or two. I’m still BronxWench there, which should be a giveaway, and I tend to ignore the chatter of anyone outside my party, so I’m probably unaware of all the insults being hurled my way. Of course, ignoring the little trolls tends to make them explode and/or go away, which are both fine with me.
My RL work background makes me sort of impervious to most things anyway. I always worked in male-dominated industries, and held my own. I had to take at least one vacation of two weeks or more each year by mandate, and I would get these frantic calls, if I was someplace with phone service (this was pre-cell phone days, my lovelies), usually right before I was due back. Of course, I always timed vacations so I would never miss anything important, but men fret a lot. Really. 

I’m sorry you had that experience, ugh! Yeah, gaming communities can totally get like that but I feel like that, unfortunately, comes with the territory. I’m glad you’re in better company now!

I used to play an MMORPG and whenever I said I was a girl there, there’d be douchebags around to call me a liar and accuse me of being a 40 year old man. So I stopped answering the gender question and for many years pretended I was a man lol. Then everyone thought I was gay… Which wasn’t entirely inaccurate. It’s a damn good thing writing communities aren’t so closed minded and douchebaggy. But now that I can be myself, gender has become more of a puzzle to me that I’m less eager to commit to. I’m a woman, but I like to keep my options open lol. 
All the fun people are a little cagey about something anyway. 

Because we all fret about how the Internet will perceive us?
I’m an old thing, so I don’t care anymore. I was already comfortable in my skin before the Internet was a thing. I rock my wenchness.

I need to stop smoking too, really. I will… soon. Perhaps when I’ve got over it, I’ll stop to celebrate my freedom

I can certainly sympathize with the need for cigarettes, although everyone here frowns at me for wanting to fall back on my former (and well loved) addiction….
But you are worth FAR more than being toyed with, and you are not alone. Never alone, and never worthless. The gift of your friendship is something I cherish, lass. Never doubt that.

So sad and introspective and yet somehow your words are still beautiful. The demons your wrestling with sound like real bitches, so I hope you figure out how to slay them or embrace them (whatever your particular needs may be).

Having been there and done that all before, I can talk from experience, and I can tell you don’t have to climb out of the pit alone.  I couldn’t; I needed help doing so.  Don’t be afraid to tell people you need help.  Remember, you’re not weak if you admit you need help, you’re weak if you don’t.

We had a yard puddle that took a quarter of the yard. If it had frozen, we could open a skating rink among the trees.

Agreed.  “Lincoln” Ch. 19 is giving me just a little bit of trouble, since I haven’t paid attention to it lately.  “Bond” is mostly being “brought over” from St. Elsewhere.  It needs some editing and revising.

I’m switching between editing and a new project. I think I prefer two projects if i have to switch. Editing needs focus. 

I may take advantage of the warmer weather Thursday to change the wiper fluid nozzle on the driver’s side. I have a couple of replacements, but it’s always finding the motivation to actually remove the old one and pop in the new.

We escaped with two inches of rain on Sunday, which washed away the remnants of the last batch of wet and icy stuff coating everything. And I do mean everything. My corgi splooted in the middle of sniffing an interesting scent because she was standing on a frozen puddle, and the daft one’s soda froze when he ducked out on the terrace for a few minutes.

Myself, I think the little stump-rat should have gone into hiding.  Last week, the ground was bare.  This week, we’ve got 14 inches of the white crap on the ground.

Hibernation sounds like a wonderful idea.

I think the groundhog went drinking with Bill, based on the weather predictions for the next week or so.
