  2. Anything by yourfacekillsme for wonderful cat stories.
  3. Or perhaps the knee-jerk "It's a trap!" response, which requires having a bigger stick than you think they do before you take them up on the invite.
  4. For Culloch's Rest - Chapter 23: Thank you! Sometimes it's the quiet moments that carry the most tension. And of course, one can script the moment, but will the actors follow the script, or improvise?
  5. People are rarely grateful for having their asses saved. We are, by and large, deeply mistrustful because we've only barely scratched the surface of being civilized. You have only to examine history to see how well we deal with strangers, and aliens are the ultimate stranger.
  6. For Culloch's Rest - Chapter 23: And now the Queen indeed. Now the question is, will she dance to Paul's tune, or does she have a dance of her own in mind? Thank you!

  9. It was very clear that the stories were identical when it came to the portion of the story linked above. The fact that the plagiarizing author went further doesn't make it any less plagiarism. We don't call a story plagiarized lightly. We do investigate thoroughly, and in cases like these, we read the stories side by side. When there are far too many points in common for it to be coincidence, then the answer is pretty clear. We are very aware that there are certain story elements and plot devices that are too common to be considered unique to a single story. In such cases, we will conclude that there is no plagiarism. That happens quite often, actually.
  10. Welcome! At the moment, we do not have a way to follow a story other than to add it to the "Currently Reading" portion of your archive profile. Some authors do email readers, or contact them by Twitter, and that would be a way to follow a story as well. Bienvenue! )
