Thank you, so much! The idea of wrens as Samhain sacrifices is pretty obscure—they’re more often associated with Boxing Day, and collecting pence for the wren. But I like my obscure details, and I am really glad it worked!
You are completely awesome to have gone back and read the older stories, but it’s good to know they hung together well. I mean, I went years between them, so… Thank you!  
I felt pretty bad for Connor in the last one. He’s really not had a whole lot of luck in his life—losing his dad, and then his Gran, and the whole teenage rebellion thing at the fairy fort leading to ten years of servitude to the Sídhe. And when he figures out his grand exit, Murphy’s Law strikes again. On the bright side, I guess he won’t die a virgin after all…maybe. We’ll have to see if @Desiderius Price  get his wish and there’s another episode of “Aw, fuck me, it’s the Sídhe!” in our future.

Heh, it’s all good. 
But that doesn’t surprise me. Like I said, it seemed like such a big world.
And damn those multiple projects eh? I feel that pain.
Ha. There is, I think it might be a slight different take… but honestly only slightly.

Thank you! I did want to go for dark and bloody. Think I hit it. Lydia I really liked, and she’ll likely return some day. Though as a protagonist of her own.
Heh. I had pondered the “NoSex” thing for a bit, but I felt it worked better for what I was going for. There was a semblance of an idea to have the grove scene a sex scene as well, but it wouldn’t have felt crowbarred in. Asides, my other work has plenty of sex.
And damnit! 

Problem with Thanksgiving is that it’s not nearly as widespread or international… for example, Canadian Thanksgiving is already done. Weeks ago.

I’m down for a Christmas party, maybe even a Thanksgiving Party.  I wanted to do something for Halloween but started late and couldn’t finish a fic in time that didn’t clearly rip off Resident Evil, Bloodborne or Dark Souls.  I guess I’ll try again next year.

Don’t want to upset rehabbed craic addicts, eh?

We can be sometimes can’t we? The mind is a deeply odd place sometimes. Especially among writers. It’s strange what we can pull out of ourselves. And yes, I remember you talking about that before. Perhaps all the more frightening in that it feels so damn plausible. 
Heh, I have an idea, as we’ve chatted about it before. But yeah, I have a feeling I’ll have the same issues whenever I get around to my M/M scenes. Tip toeing that line between cheesy and clinical and what’s actually sexy to those that enjoy the material
 
I also have reviews of my own to respond to. Woo! 
I enjoy doing little things like that. I like describing little ticks and motions the characters do when they’re just talking or walking or whatever. I feel it breathes a little life into them. Kind of a reminder for the imagination that they’re not just standing that yammering at each other straight backed, or strolling super purposefully down the road. I find it also opens doors for little snipits of world building. Not much, but little bits of it.
And yeah, once I thought of this idea earlier this week I hit the ground running and just went for it. Lydia was originally going to be the main character, but I felt it better for her just to have a cameo. I thought it would be better for the horror vibe if I had this noble completely out of her comfort zone. I often worry about the Mary Sue thing, especially with my typical archetype that I find coming into my stories. Them warrior lasses that I enjoy writing so much. But, this time it wasn’t actually I worry for me. I found it rather different to go for the noble woman who was physically weak, but could be a powerhouse in politics. She was a fun character to write.
 
Why thank you. The one side was certainly inspired by Rome, and the conquered city in my head was drawn from Gaul, Brittannia, and Massalia. I had a lot more stuff but… didn’t want to drown in exposition since most of it wasn’t necessary for the plot. But yes, butchered by demons/undead isn’t the best of days.

I've already decided what to write for next year. Working title: "Day of the Deadly."

I felt a bit  … disturbed too by what my mind came up with, but definitely a dark story (and technically, that entire universe of mine is set a short ways in the future, so it could definitely happen depending on politics).
Now that I’ve situated a Halloween story around Christmas, next challenge it fit a Holiday story around Halloween

Woo! Managed to finish. After about 5 scraped ideas, and a few starts and restarts, I finally got something I actually had a lot of fun writing. 
Title: Eve of Hollow Souls
Summary: A noblewoman of a conquered land goes to visit her countryside villa, on the night of a outlawed religious festival. 
Warnings: Violence, no sex, F/F (sorta, but not really)

Well, it’s been a year so here’s some more ideas for free. I mean, if you don’t count the price of your self respect.
 
In the old west, a horse tamer who claims he can break any horse meets a recent immigrant kelpie by a river.

A reader reads a story on a website about a monster that wrote a story on a website and then killed anyone who read it and didn’t leave a review. They don’t leave a review. The monster then appears and says that it was only a story, and it actually just fucks people who read and don’t review. But only if they’re into monster sex.
**
A giant spider finds a human in the cave, and hides until a bigger spider shoos them out, maybe with a giant glass and oversized copy of a newspaper.
**
A serial killer targets people writing article titles which use “Millennials” to mean teenagers instead of “early/mid twenties to damn near 40”
**
At a convention, a fursuit has the head pulled off to reveal a whole bunch of raccoons who were just trying to get to the free buffet
**
In a second person solo fic, you find yourself skimming down increasingly terrible ideas before deciding to go masturbate to that hot bath scene in Shokan Lust.

In a first person fic, I write inceasingly terrible ideas onto a thread before my computer gains sentience and kills me in disgust. Also with masturbation.
**
Someone should totally turn that old joke with the “Why does your dick taste like shit?” “Oh, I forgot, your brother already borrowed the car” into a full length story.

A succubus sucks souls on a bus. By dressing sluttily and drawing energy from perverts who grope her. The more/worse things they do, the more of their life force she gets, the most depraved acts committed publically lead to a quick death. On one bus route in Trenton nine men die in one night. And four women.

A pizza delivery guy gets an order to take pizza to a cemetary. The dead folks find they don’t have the money to pay, so in line with the porno rules of pizza delivery he has to get it on with a couple of half rotted revenants. “I should have known there was evil here when they ordered double pineapple,” he thinks.

This idea left intentionally blank.

A user who makes jokes about ABDL fics accidentally pisses off a powerful witch who is a fan, and gets turned into her ABDL slave. At least that’s what I assume happened.

Thank you for pointing those out. That’s what happens when I continue to edit after it’s been betaed. I’m glad the F/F smut bit went well enough. I think that was what I was most worried about, especially with the awkward boob grab. Still not entirely sure why I didn’t rewrite that bit, lol. Thank you for the review!

I’d almost suggest a more classic twist.  Instead of Jake seeking his mother out, he surreptitiously sells them (based on his dick, of course).  Unbeknownst to Jake, his mother, having marital issues with his father (or divorced and single), buys one and uses it.  Truth comes out...over a big family Christmas dinner?   Think we’ve got a holiday story for you to write, @T_B.

We’ll encourage you!  Heck, this premise could even make for a good Halloween story (going on now).

Obviously being from Adam’s point of view (and his younger brother’s), I don’t tell the full picture of what’s going through Father Jordan’s mind.  And if Hope had suspected Adam’s fate, she would not have dropped him off like that, instead, picking up Oliver too and bringing them elsewhere..
