From experience, I know 100K+ is too long IMO.

Anymore, I’ll establish a cadence for a story, a couple of marks for “short” and “long” and try to keep to them, however, I won’t fret if I go a bit over the lines either way.  If it’s way too short, I’ll combine chapters; too long, and I’m looking to split.  On occasion, though, I’ll let a chapter stray outside those marks with good justification.  (My typical story will typically aim for 5 → 7k or so, however, I’ve done stories where they’ve been at 2k too.)
