Nearly done with the last preview.
But here’s a writer question isn’t it a nice thing to do to put your manuscript through spellchecker/grammarly so your editor doesn’t hate you? You know catch the obvious errors first.

Trust me, the last thing you want is an irritated editor. Personally, I wouldn’t even irritate a beta reader. Think of all the stupid little errors they can conveniently forget to point out….

TBH, I kinda had to quell my fear of those little errors, otherwise I wouldn’t post. I *do* run a spell checker and proofread it later. Wish I had a beta reader, but alas, my stories are a bit long to expect anybody to volunteer. Of course, I’m not a published author either, as I’ve stuck to fanfiction & casual web-posting.

I think Grammarly has a British English setting anyway, much beloved by writers of Harry Potter fanfic. I seem to remember hearing that when the original Harry Potter book was published in America, before it had really taken off, they insisted on many changes to American stuff which wasn’t bothered with with later ones, so Harry walked on a sidewalk, a car had a trunk and all Uncle Vernon’s lines were replaced with dialogue from Rodney Dangerfield skits.
