Let’s see. I celebrated on Sunday, because my brother in law is a nurse, and had to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. It actually worked for me, being midway between my Solstice and Christmas.

So, it was family, and neighbors, and lots of food which everyone swore was wonderful, and and small presents for the adults, and more for the kids. It was laughter, and telling old stories, and new stories. It was amazing desserts from my sister’s favorite bakery in Brooklyn. It was glorious, and everything I could hope for in a celebration.

I think this was the first time since my dad’s passing that I really let myself enjoy the holidays.

Jehovah Witnesses won’t even ring my doorbell anymore, seems asking them if worshipping a god that tried to kill us is akin to worshipping a mass murderer, makes them want to skip my house completely.

I spent a quiet holiday waiting for a phone call telling me that my beloved Grandpa has passed, he is still holding on atm.
