Is there any word yet on when we'll be able to use bold type in the archive, or restore punctuation to the summaries that can't retain it for some reason? Also, when those functions are restored, will all the problems fix themselves (eg, Will every "39" in a story summary become an apostrophe again?), or will we have to do it manually?
And how about correcting the spelling of "Originals"? My phone reads the current spelling as "orgy-nals," which is fun and all, but...

It turned to 13 years for me, in January.   And some five or six years that I’ve been serving as your inept forum moderator

Thanks! Although Stan isn’t my favorite GF character, he might be my favorite one to write. There’s just something intuitive about the way he talks. Not sure what that says about me.

Quick update: I expect to have “O.GL.E.R.” off to beta this weekend. And I should be able to post chapter 3 of “Retro” pretty soon, too.

“Cowboys and Indians” is now complete! You can check out the second half here. 

Or you can let the readers make their own interpretations, but of course, you give them a tiny clue in terms of not using the MCD tag…  

I have a related question: How about a character finding out that they are already dead and then seeing their own death in flashback (a la The Sixth Sense)?
If the character continues to exist in the same form as they have throughout the story, then maybe the MCD tag isn't needed, because that character isn't "lost" to the reader. On the other hand, if "seeing" the character die is the important thing, then the tag ought to be used.

In other news, the second half of “Cowboys and Indians” has gone off to beta. 

One of our members, Sessakag, has had the unfortunate experience of finding their story posted without permission on this site:  https://www.patreon.com/WhatIfFanfics/collections. 
The stories that have been used are largely in the Naruto fandom, although there are some crossovers as well. 
The worst part? It's behind a paywall. That's right--this plagiarist expects you to pay $10 to listen a story published by the actual author for free right here on AFF. See, that's the plagiarist's hook. These are AUDIO copies. Now, mind you, this plagiarist had their YouTube account suspended, most likely for the very same thing, but they don't seem able to learn their lesson.
If your story has been stolen, Patreon wants you to reach out to the "creator" on Patreon and ask them to be nice and take it down. If that doesn't work, they also suggest filing a DMCA takedown notice (https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/208377833). The catch is that you need a Patreon account to report the stolen content. However, the more times this thief is reported, the more likely it is that Patreon will be forced to take action.
I want to send a huge thank you to Sessakag for reporting this to us. Even if AFF can't tell Patreon how to run their site, we can be proud of our members, who respect the hard work put into creating the fan fictions we all enjoy.
 
UPDATE:
Patreon responded quickly to the DMCA request from Sessakag, and removed the story from the Patreon page, although the account hasn't been suspended. If you too have been a victim, please go and file that DMCA takedown notice with Patreon!
ANOTHER UPDATE:
It seems there are now YouTube videos where this person reads a story aloud, so they haven’t learned their lesson from the first YouTube suspension. If your story was used here, please report it and file a DMCA takedown request.

Since this was medieval fantasy and not historical fiction, I wasn’t even trying for historical accuracy; the concept of “detachment" was just something I made up to help explain why Gareth ended up at the stables. 
Maybe, but if so, his envy is misplaced. I have a friend who is very well hung, and from what I know, it has done his sex life far more harm than good. Gareth’s “deformity” was inspired by that. 

Update: I expect part two of “Cowboys and Indians” to be ready to go to beta early next week. Chapter 2 of “Retro” will probably be ready for posting some time that week. “O.GL.E.R." is coming along more slowly than I'd anticipated, but I have sent what I have so far to @toonguy, who has kindly offered to beta that story for me.
In other news, I have once again broken my own rule and allowed the number of stories on the List of Twenty to increase to 21. This is because, a couple of days ago, I was seized by a kind of messed-up idea for a Steven Universe fanfic and was forced to begin writing parts of it immediately. It will be a while before that I'll be ready to start posting chapters of that one.
Much closer to being post-ready are two other fanfics: 
-a Loud House fic titled “Casino Night” that is set in the free-sex world of Earth 17.2 (which was introduced in “Big Lincoln, Little Lincoln")
-a Hamster and Gretel story titled "Sharing DNA.” At Kevin's school, a mysterious supervillain named Doctor D'Zire unleashes a nanotech virus that makes every student crave sex with someone who shares their DNA. Kevin can't stop the craving—or keep from infecting others in his family with it.
I’ll probably be ready to start sending chapters of one or both of those stories to beta by the end of the month.

Currently, my top 3 priorities are

-chapter 2 of “Retro”
-my one-shot Star Trek: Lower Decks story “O.GL.E.R.”
I’ll have news about other projects after I get at least one of these things finished.
