    just finished editing the first chapter of Siren Song. Much happier with it now. Now to go over the 2nd chapter but coffee first.

    The difference between trolling and opinion is simple evidence. Take the fad scenario, is bisexuality a fad? in and of itself, no. Nature has always had bisexuals. Is bisexuality a fad in modern celebrity circles? yes, most definitely. Without stating which you are referring to (doesn't have to be the celebrity reference) it can appear to an outsider that it is trolling because everyone is clumped together. I was pretty much treated as a troll the other day for voicing my opinion on horse racing. A friend had stated how everyone that watched or gambled on the grand national was pretty much evil and if there was no money involved we wouldn't watch. I stated that I would because I enjoy the sport then all hell broke loose. I ended up being compared to someone that enjoys dog fighting! How a horse running and having to occasionally jump can be compared to dogs being viciously torn apart is beyond me. Now that is trolling and flaming. There was no evidence to back up why they felt that way other than for them to say "fact" as though that proved their point. If they said the horses are run to exhaustion, some die, the jockeys can be too heavy handed with the whip, they used to shoot injured horses and sell them as horse meat when they were no longer profitable then that would be giving a thought out opinion with merit. A very big difference from just saying people who enjoy horse racing are sick in the head and enjoy dog fighting. fact!

The violent, the assasins, the tyrants, and the war-mongers lament their pitiless mischiefs in the river, while centaurs armed with bows and arrows shoot those who try to escape their punishment. The stench here is overpowering. This level is also home to the wood of the suicides- stunted and gnarled trees with twisting branches and poisoned fruit. At the time of final judgement, their bodies will hang from their branches. In those branches the Harpies, foul birdlike creatures with human faces, make their nests. Beyond the wood is scorching sand where those who committed violence against God and nature are showered with flakes of fire that rain down against their naked bodies. Blasphemers and sodomites writhe in pain, their tongues more loosed to lamentation, and out of their eyes gushes forth their woe. Usurers, who followed neither nature nor art, also share company in the Seventh Level.

    I make it a point to review whatever I've read. To me it tells the writer that I red more than the first page if there are several chapters and what my thoughts on the story are. If I don't like something I'll say I don't like it but I'll back up with why and I do the same if I love it. There's no excuse not to unless you have to run out the door as the review tab is directly below the end of chapter. So, ye I like reviews but I think I would cringe more if after writing for hours or days and uploading a story no -one bothered to read it

    wording! words that lack character sit plainly on the page. By adding words like zonked, shoogled, belted (as in singing), splodge or colours the page comes alive - the horse ran red streams down its side as it lay on the crisp green grass. The vet looked down. His feet squelched as he moved closer to examine the poor beast.

    Both. The author may initially write what they think would happen and how it would feel but once they have a following they will adapt to suit their readers depending on the feedback or lack of, that they get.

    tags in chapters get on my goat. I don't need to see what is going to happen by putting the tag on the front summary at the very start I know what to expect. It's then up to the author to convey what is happening and when in a way that flows smoothly. If I have to stop and read about it then it spoils the element of surprise. I want to read the passage and then go "holy freaking batman!" not "ah there it is." total mood killer.

    part of me would say yes, for siren song. It didn't go quite as I had anticipated but then it's a nice release for when i'm bored so kinda more written for myself than anything. I think anyone that read it probably thought I was a bit nuts

    vivid dreams are always a source to fall back on. A smell that connects to a place or time will throw up scenarios that can be worked on or simply daydreaming. My story Into The Dark started off as a daydream (hate waiting on public transport) I enjoyed it so much that I ended up tweaking it to fit with the fanfiction criteria. I guess having a very vivid imagination has always been a source of inspiration for me, that and a good long term memory One of my favourite things to do is to pretend I am in someone else's head as I'm walking through town. Also, taking random words and creating a story around them helps to get your creative juices going

    now to finish rewriting chapter one of Dark Waters (my book) wasn't happy after I reread the first few chapters through glad i'm getting it to the place where I can say I'm proud of it :)

    finished typing up chapter 5, loved writing that one, especially when i had got over my stumbling block at the start :)

    will need to finish ch 5 when I get back thanks to my computer deciding after i'd half written it that now would be the perfect time to reconfigure

    finished writing up the chapter yay now to read it through and make sure it sounds good :) Think I'm going to enjoy writing Crispen and Scorpius characters :)

    woke up from my sleep panicking thought I had slept through to the next day and that my daughter hadn't come home only to realize that that i'd only slept for a couple hours blasted sun!! ;) now to go edit and write :)

    got cjhapter four up will likely add a little more to it though and still need to go over it in editing but introduced Professor Crispen yay :) now though, a quick wee kip :)
