BronxWench got a reaction from Deadman in Your verification is bugged beyond help
If you’re trying to do this as a registered user, you may have to activate the account first. If you can give me your archive profile url, I can check that for you.
If you’ve already activated and set the new cookie, and you get the age verification again, you have to go the root domain and refresh the cookie. The refresh is simple: go to https://www.adult-fanfiction.org and click yes. You won’t need to clear anything to refresh the cookie.
To set the cookie the first time, this is how you do it:
First thing, before you proceed. DO NOT use anonymous browsing for this part. You can go back to it afterwards.
Be sure to do this from the main page: https://www.adult-fanfiction.org
No matter WHICH browser, you must clear cache and cookies for ALL TIME. If you are using Apple products, you must clear cache in all your devices as the products link together.
After doing the clear, close and restart your browser.
Finally, you need to force refresh. (Press Ctrl+F5)
That should fix the issues. You should be able to proceed once you do that.
If you’re getting an error about activation, go to the register link and select the drop down option of “resend activation”.
Remember, major software changes generally do require this sort of action.
If, after all this, you’re still experiencing issues with the age verification, in Chrome/Edge, press F12 to access the console. You’ll see the exact error being generated. Let us know what it is.
If you are experiencing bugs, please post them to the bug tracker. What we will need from you are specific steps you took to get the error, and screen shots if you are able. This will help in getting everything fixed, if there are bugs.

BronxWench reacted to Deadman in Tag question
Well let’s just say that it’s used in a way that is a substitute for a pocket rocket and/or dildo. You’re probably right. As I said, actual toys are introduced later in the story. So it’s probably best to add it even if the lipstick itself isn’t one.

BronxWench got a reaction from Deadman in Tag question
I probably wouldn’t consider lipstick a toy, but you know, that could just be failure of imagination on my part.
Toys, in general, would include things like dildos, vibrators, beads, cock rings, onaholes, bondage rope, paddles, crops, whips, gags, blindfolds, cuffs, and so on. But if something can be used that isn’t on that list, feel free to deem it a toy. Better safe than sorry!

So, here’s something it never occurred to me to ask.
What is the definition of a Toy from the perspective of a tag in a story?
It occurred to me suddenly that I might need to add that tag to the story but it’s not technically relevant. The reason why I’m curious is because one of the things that’s kinda central to the story is the use of lipstick between two or more female characters. Applying it in both conventional and unconventional ways.
Is that considered a toy for the purposes of the story? I should probably add one anyway because I believe dildos are eventually introduced in the story. But it never occurred to me whether the use of lipstick would be considered a toy.

Using incognito mode and VPNs are a big part of your issue. We tell everyone that for a one time setting of the cookie, you cannot mask your access, use vpn, use incognito mode. That will make your attempts fail.

BronxWench reacted to DemonGoddess in Fan Fic been deleted?
There was no data loss with the upgrade. To expound on what BronxWench mentioned, that when a user decides to scrub themselves, we comply with their wishes. There are many reasons for someone wanting to do this. Often, where I’ve seen things disappear except for on, for example, the internet archive; it’s because the user either made a huge life change and wishes to leave this all behind, or was published.

How about Television > Misc TV Shows > Crossovers?
-
BronxWench got a reaction from Deadman in Parody category?
Okay. This is trickier. Are all the fandoms within a single archive?
-
BronxWench got a reaction from Deadman in Parody category?
Our general take on cross-fandoms stories is that we allow them, but the various fandoms need to be disclaimed individually, and the story should be posted in the main fandom. Clear as mud, right?
As an example, the main fandom is Supernatural, but some characters from Doctor Who, Roswell, and Torchwood are included. The story is posted in Supernatural, as an AU, and you would disclaim all the fandoms. If they can’t all fit in the disclaimer, you can note in the disclaimer that additional fandoms will be named in the chapter in which they first appear, and then just put an author’s note at the top of the chapter with the additional disclaimer.

Honestly, there aren’t a lot of members who would deliberately game the system. We did have some in the past, but they tended to also demand reviews and indulge in other objectionable behaviors. I’m not going to say that an author shouldn’t fix a glaring typo, or formatting issue, simply to avoid bumping up a story. I think we can trust our members to not strive for front page dominance in an archive.

I did make the effort to update the FAQ section for the new code…

There’s no way to make the code differentiate. Any change to a story, whether a chapter edit or a new chapter posting, will bump the story up. Honestly, it’s not like you're tweaking errors just to bump your story up. If we do see that some members are doing just that, however, we will take action.

BronxWench reacted to Wilde_Guess in Old feature return to new text editor, please?
Hello, @DemonGoddess and all.
Any hope of getting an “alignment” button installed in the Jodit editor on the archive side? On the “example” editor they put out for public view, they do have a single button that can allow the user to change text alignment.
Thanks in advance either way.

I’ve tried this with multiple tags and across different archives. I’m unable to replicate. I expect as BronxWench said, you need to clear your cache.

It’s the Joey and Chandler problem from Friends. They found out they had access to free porn all the time and suddenly every thought turns in that direction.
Sadly, I don’t deliver pizzas.

And my dirty mind instantly turned this thought as a flirtation with staff via hidden stories…

Well, I saw this and this is part of what I meant.
I would love to create a bunch that are visible only to me and staff. I’m kinda curious if I can just change that and have it be visible to everyone later.
