Everyone should be aware that Melrick and I are suffering from an inability to actually “get a room” anywhere in the world right now.

Actually Nixon had just enough shame and/or intelligence to resign before the debate for his impeachment began. The only other U.S. presidents to actually be impeached were Johnson and Clinton (and there have been a bunch of judges, a senator and a cabinet member). I guess Trump really wanted to be able to say that he was the most-impeached person ever. Winning?

Trump even makes Tricky Dick look good. At least he was only impeached once.

Heh, I just re-watched a video from just before the general election in 2016 asking if it was even possible that Trump or Hillary could become the worst U.S. president ever. After listing several other asshole presidents they argued that GWB would probably hold that title forever. It all seems so quaint now. Also I guess SNL needs to make a new episode of “The X Presidents” too.

It really does take a lot to make Shrub look good, doesn’t it?   

Amazing really, how bad Trump had to be to make Dubya seem not terrible. I mean, George Junior’s VP straight up shot a dude in the face and laughed it off, and that whole shitshow of hoping Halliburton and Bechtel and the rest would know a damn thing about rebuilding a country.

Yessss, I’m not even in the US and it was such an immediate relief once the inauguration was over and it was done. He was gone. I don’t think Biden will be perfect by any stretch of the imagination but so much damage has been done and he clearly knows that his job is to help us heal. 

I’m pretty sure they’re not going to miss him at all. I know I won’t.

I literally cried from sheer happiness watching President Biden and Vice President Harris take their oaths of office.

Fascists storm the capitol to try and keep their autocrat in charge and the next day are saying “no, it was the anti-fascists” Christ, the doublethink.

I was beside myself as it all unfolded. And because I live in a more conservative region I know I’m going to go to work today and see people still unashamedly wearing their maga crap and I’m going to have to be polite and courteous to these people or I lose my job. The worst part is I’ve actually seen some people wearing QAnon shirts and the like. 
 

I am horrified and appalled by today’s insurrection, by the attempted coup encouraged by the person most prominently charged with defending our Constitution. I can’t think of any way to make it more abundantly clear that Trump does not love this country, or its people. He loves only himself.
It is neither an empty gesture nor an act of vengeance to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove him from office. He has demonstrated today, with utmost clarity, the utter contempt in which he holds his sacred trust to America.

For those not yet in 2021, lets just state that I hope you remembered to put your name on your nanowrimo challenge.

Well, so far 2021 has been wet, but at least it’s been cool!  And no attacking vegetables of any kind so far.  I’ll keep you posted.
