Fan Fic been deleted?

Hi folks

Bit of a weird one here, but I was searching for one of my favourite fics from a few years ago and it’s seemingly completely disappeared. I found it weird as has completely disappeared off the face of the internet and I dunno why, it seemed to be pretty popular and was exceptionally well written.

Were any stories lost between the transition to the new site’s interface or something? I hadnt checked since the site got an upgrade (looks great btw) so mightve disappeared before then. Also checked way back machine but coverage was spotty and couldnt find it there either.

Without knowing the title of the story, I wouldn’t be able to tell you for sure. However, we do have people ask, from time to time, to have their account removed, or who choose to take a story down everywhere.

We take exceptional care not to lose any stories during the site upgrades, and I’m not aware of any data loss during the most recent upgrade.

There was no data loss with the upgrade.  To expound on what BronxWench mentioned, that when a user decides to scrub themselves, we comply with their wishes.  There are many reasons for someone wanting to do this.  Often, where I’ve seen things disappear except for on, for example, the internet archive; it’s because the user either made a huge life change and wishes to leave this all behind, or was published.

After some digging, I found the fic’s name and the author

I understand after doing some indepth investigation and sluething that this person requested their account and stories deleted, however half of the story in question in available on the waybackmachine… I know it’s weird but I am desperate to read the 2^nd (and final) chapter… I have a severe case of autism and i basically can’t sleep whenever a old piece of media (snippet of a song, scene from a movie, chapter of a book, segment of a youtube video) pops into my head… i stay up until i can find that piece of media and “scratch” the itch

If there is any way I could get the 2^nd chapter, i swear on my life I wouldnt share it, I would delete it right after i read it, I just need to read it so i can sleep again haha
