SirGeneralSir Posted February 24, 2017 Report Posted February 24, 2017 im looking for some odd traditional marriage proposals. something that a person could agree to while not actually understanding what it is they are accepting, like in OOT (legend of zelda) when link gets the water spirit stone. possibly something that could originate somewhere in Asia? JayDee Posted February 24, 2017 Report Posted February 24, 2017 I’ve never seen a video game character so relieved as Link was when Ruto had to go be the Water Sage instead of marrying him. I mean, his heart clearly belonged to Epona. Well… the Firefly universe is half-Chinese*, and Mal ended up married to yo-saff-bridge with a dance and accepting wine and flowers. Although how much of that was actual local marriage tradition and how much was the devil wumman conning ‘em… eh. *Nobody told the casting director, admittedly. Quote
SirGeneralSir Posted February 24, 2017 Author Report Posted February 24, 2017 i should also point out, its the guy that is the clueless one Quote
DirtyAngel Posted February 25, 2017 Report Posted February 25, 2017 how about where the woman cooks something for the man she wants and if he eats the food he is accepting her proposal Quote
SirGeneralSir Posted February 25, 2017 Author Report Posted February 25, 2017 i remember one like that in Stargate SG1 it is a possible option, would need a name for that tradition because i think its a greek one Quote
Desiderius Price Posted February 25, 2017 Report Posted February 25, 2017 Or, “rescues” her? (Thinking Shrek here….) Quote
SirGeneralSir Posted February 25, 2017 Author Report Posted February 25, 2017 the MC has rescued, saved and helped many women (canon) im trying to make it that some of these women want to help him with something personal of his, and being married would help (to multiple women) for political reasons. like offering him …… the sword of a father, swearing to keep it for all time etc etc = accepting marriage proposal……. hey there’s one Quote
Desiderius Price Posted February 25, 2017 Report Posted February 25, 2017 Oh, lifting this from a facebook friend who mentioned that Australian slang is confusing… Quote If somebody asks if you're looking for a good cook. Say no.... unless you're looking for a wife Quote
SirGeneralSir Posted February 27, 2017 Author Report Posted February 27, 2017 that could work for one of the girls, she is actually a cook for his fav food, so her “proposal” could be along that line, or her fathers to him. Quote
