Streti Posted May 20, 2008 Report Share Posted May 20, 2008 I have been wondering for a while, are there any really high quality and large scope stories here at AFF or online that would actually rival published works? Is it completely impossible to think that there could be something of "Harry Potter's" scope and quality online? Or at least the "His Dark Materials" trilogy? Some people have written bookfuls of stuff, but are there any gems that stand out with professional-level planning, cohesion and editing? Or is a workload like that simply too much for freely available written works online? If you know of a story like that, please share your knowledge with some comments. An idea forms in my head and i write it down. For these, though, i keep coming up with additional scenarios for the heroes/heroines involved. They have a bunch of serialized epics in every issue, and all the back issues are there to read for free. More action, adventure, and interesting characters than you can point a photon gun at. "Memory Wipe" by Sean T.M. Stiennon is especially awesome, but you should take a look at the first chapter or two of all of their serials just to see which one you like best. It's about a guy who had an infected piercing ear and went back to the piercing studio to have his infected piercing ear checked out and found out that a new owner owned the piercing studio. (The previous owner did pierced that guy's ear, accounting for his now infected piercing ear). The new owner cleaned it out and told this guy to come back in a week to see how his piercing ear turn out. That guy went back a week later and went inside only to find two guys threatening the new owner about money. The two bad guys then left and the owner took out the piercing and gave him cleaning stuff to help with the infected ear piercing. This guy left only to be kidnapped by a boss of those two bad guys. This boss (and the new owner of the piercing studio) turned out to be vampires. The vampire boss wanted the new owner to pay back the money owned and decided to whore the human out to repay the money owned. But he soon fell in love with the human and they all found out that someone else did that and framed the new owner of the piercing studio.
