If you are going the route of Karui being Kushina's daughter you could have it that Kushina was actually a Kumo spy in Konoha. Since Karui looks older than Naruto in the manga it could be an interesting plot point, plus that could be how Kumo's abduction attempt succeeded.

That does seem possible if we are talking about their teens but if we are talking about kidnapping Hinata as a child it would have to be Kushina since Naruko would be a child herself otherwise. Though if Kushina can capture Hinata as a child she might be able to subdue and capture Hinata's mom as well. As an addition to the bloodline-hungry Kumo and her lustful master and owner, the Raikage A, she might also capture Uchiha Mikoto. Mikoto is considered to be friends with Kushina and carries the genes for the sharingan so if she was given to A he could breed her to give Kumo its own Uchiha clan.

She is implied to have been a very powerfeul kunoichi even without the usage of the kyuubi in canon (probably because she strove to be kage-level) and even in my ideas she was the wife of the Yondaime Hokage so she could have information on the patrols, barriers and other security. My previous ideas require Kushina to have been successfully captured unlike in canon and to have had her broken and turned by the future Raikage A. She would then "escape" from Kumo's hands (perhaps a year after she was captured during which time she could have conceived and given birth to Karui) so she could infiltrate Konoha (marrying Minato and getting pregnant with Naruko as part of this plan). Instead of dying from the Kyuubi attack she could use the earth wall jutsu to prevent Naruko and herself from dying to the Kyuubi's claw and then after Minato utilizes the Shiki Fuijin and dies she could take Naruko and run to Kumo before Konoha finds them (causing Konoha to assume that they are dead and allowing Naruko to be trained).

Once again thanks. It actually took some thinking to come up with and I am most particularly proud of the "earth wall instead of jumping in front of the Kyuubi's claw and dying" bit. Most people as far as I am aware of don't come up with anything that could keep Kushina alive in that situation (because while she may be a breeding slut slavishly devoted to the Raikage it does not mean she won't sacrifice herself to save her daughter's life (she is still a mother after all). What I did was give her another option that could save both of their lives, in fact if she had been loyal to Konoha the only reason Minato would have died would because of the cost of Shiki Fuijin.

Sorry for the repeated posts but i just have had multiple ideas. Ideas such as this one Kushina chakra chains can restrain the Bijuu so it would be somewhat easy to get ahold of a jinchurikki like Fu of the Nanabi from Taki and Kumo is big on increaing it's war potential so they would leap at that chance. The only village I think that would pose a challenge to Infiltration specialist Kushina that uses seals to hide her presence and capture her targets would be Otogakure. This is because it is less of a village and more of multiple bases placed in various locations. However should she be successful Kushina could capture Kin, Guren (of the crystal release/ Filler Three-Tails Arc), Kotohime (Fuuma clan/ Filler), Kagero (Fuuma clan/ Filler), Uzumaki Karin, and Tayuya (who is also a possible Uzumaki with traits such as reddish hair, fiery temper like Kushina's, and possible large chakra reserves). While Kushina is Kiri she could also grab Hotaru (she is of the Tsuchigumo clan and has a kinjutsu of mass destruction).

Their ages are indeed nice to know and I have heard that some men are virile even as seniors so that age doesn't really matter for the Raikage (especially since his family has had a history of near-divine bodies to the point that his dad earned the title "The Immortal" because no one could really harm him except himself this is canon. While the Raikage is stated to be approaching such a body and was still getting stronger). Kushina is a pureblooded Uzumaki so she could conceivably look to be in her twenties while in her eighties and could if not killed live to be around 200 or so.
