Zombie Fic?

I'm looking for a story I remember reading here last year that I thought was called adaptation. The main character is hiding out in a craft store when a group of "soldiers" come to the town looking for a place to settle. The zombies are not undead but are often referred to as rats.

Also, the main character is called Boyo but I think his real name is Alex. Other characters are called Sarge, Red, Tells, and Sella. This is a m/m story.
