dazzledfirestar Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 ^ Is right on there. < Was sure a passport was required as of Jan. 7th for anyone (citizen or not) entering the USA... V Knows if I'm right on that one. Quote
redsliver Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 ^ that's when the law was passed. < I don't think the passport thing will be fully implemented until this summer V has yet to get a passport. Quote
Nanaea Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 ^ Is correct. < Has been lackadaisical about getting a passport, because a. they cost money and b. < only plans on crossing the border if things get ugly here. V thinks < should get a move-on before things get that bad. Quote
Leonhart29 Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 ^ Has a wait and see attitude. < Has applied for <'s passport and doesn't like the picture they'll use. V Knows that they want you looking your worst for the pic so they can laugh at you. Quote
quamp Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 ^ Don't they all? < <'s DL pic makes me look like I've been on a cocaine holiday. < Doesn't use drugs, BTW. < Knows the passport requirements went into effect January 1, and were moved to Jan. 1, 2008 on January 5th. < Hopes ^ sent in a long form birth certificate (available only from Austin and the city/county where one was born) as there's a 75% chance that the passport office will reject a short form. < Gets at least 15 angry customers a day over this. < Not permitted to tell customers this before they buy. V Thinks that the city is being money-grubbing for not telling everyone about this. Quote
Leonhart29 Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 ^ Is right about many things. < Had the long form because < feels that being prepared is a needed thing in today's world V Thinks that is a good way of dealing with government offices Quote
dazzledfirestar Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 ^ Is very right... < Is wondering how they pushed back that law, as many people (American or otherwise) got stuck in our airport here in Calgary when they tried to go to the states without said passport. < Is the owner of a horrid passport picture, but is sure after being on a plane/in airports for over twenty hours (on most of my trips that required a passport) the pic was fairly accurate. V Is sure there are many times when horrid passport photos become accurate. Quote
Leonhart29 Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 ^ Is onto the main reason why the passports are the way they are. < Was told to take down hair so it fell behind <'s shoulders, put on glasses, and not smile when picture was taken. < Was told that next time < shouldn't wear makeup as the picture would be more life like. < Informed the postal worker that < tries not to scare little kids and old ladies by not going out of the house without makeup. V Thinks passports are really a government conspiracy to get people to think twice about leaving home at all. Quote
dazzledfirestar Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 ^ Has it worse than < does! < Wasn't told not to wear make-up... but was told to put on glasses. < Told photo guy that there was no way I was going to be wearing glasses in international customs situation, as those glasses are only for reading. V Loves messing with the photo guys! Quote
Leonhart29 Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 ^ Has seen into <'s heart of hearts. < Messes with the photo guys at the DMV whenever < can with goofy grins and crossed eyes. V Wonders if < has a normal picture on anything Quote
dazzledfirestar Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 ^ Only makes faces for the DMV guy! < Spent four years with an ID card that had her tongue just barely sticking out... it took a bouncer to notice! V Would think that would be a fake id. Quote
Sin Acies Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 ^ is so right about me thinking it's a good i.d.! < is too stubborn to go to sleep. V is easily scared of horror flicks. Quote
dazzledfirestar Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 ^ Is generally wrong on that one. < Knows that there is one exception... zombies... but I still love the movies. V Isn't scared by the old school slow zombies. Quote
Sin Acies Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 ^ would be very scared if there was no escape route. < is freaked out by creepy kids in movies V is probably more into action flics. Quote
dazzledfirestar Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 ^ A swing and a miss actually. < Understands the creepy kid thing... *shiver* < Is actually only interested in movies that involve something I'm already into... ie Harry Potter, X-Men, that sort of thing... with a few exceptions. VHas been to a movie lately. Quote
Sin Acies Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 ^ doesn't want to admit he's in to chic flics, lol < is still a little freaked by the first Grudge V probably thinks it was a dumb movie. Quote
dazzledfirestar Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 ^ Is wrong actually. < Has yet to see the Grudge... but will get around to it eventually. < Realizes that the whole getting pregnant and giving birth thing has stolen some of her movie viewing time! V Is sure < will get that time back... in twenty years or so! Quote
Sin Acies Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 ^ knows movies don't compare to kids, good priorities! < is terrified of having kids of my own V probably has kids too Quote
redsliver Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 ^ true < could have hundreds of kids, who knows how many women fertile women swim in Sydney Harbour V thinks < needs to get some newer material. Quote
Nanaea Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 ^ Recycling jokes. < Doubts the water in Sydney Harbour is warm enough for ^'s 'little Redslivers' to survive long enough to impregnate anyone. V Is willing to preform an experiment to test <'s theory. Quote
redsliver Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 ^ yeah... no < seeing as there's a few miles of pipeline the chances are nil V thinks harbours are not for swimming Quote
Leonhart29 Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 ^ Has a good swimming hole (so to speak) < Loves swimming in a harbor with others of the same mind set. V Sticks to clean swimming pools with no fish Quote
redsliver Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 ^ swims where sewage effluent goes < sticks to beaches and lakes V not a swimmer Quote
dazzledfirestar Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 ^ Is wrong. < Knows that not swimming would make sufring a lot more difficult. V Thinks it might still be possible. Quote
redsliver Posted May 25, 2007 Report Posted May 25, 2007 ^ one would have to have unerring balance < wants the weather to get warmer so < can swim instead of running V has nowhere nearby to swim for free Quote
