^ quite right

< apparently the loudest snorer ever according to girlfriends, professors, brothers, anyone I've been on a road trip with and people I've camped with.

V refuses to believe they snore as V never hears it.

^ not to my knowledge.

< has been woken up because <'s brother thought < was yelling at him.

V was unaware that there is a cure for snoring and that it involves too holes drilled up in the pallate and into the sinuses.

^ Knows when to beat around the bush and when to go for the throat

< Tends to keep things to < self as it's safer that way

V Has their own way of letting someone know what they want

^ Yep.

< Doesn't want to name names on that.

V Thinks < sets off ^'s asshole detector.

^ has a constant beeping noise to contend with

< has a well oiled asshole detector that < turned off for a bit

V tends to ignore assholes on basic principles

^ One subject change, coming up.

< New subject: anticipating things.

V What are you anticipating to get soon?

^ incorrect

< knows people who have pre-ordered

v has pre-ordered many things before

Posted

^ not pre-ordered.

< has never pre-ordered anything, though my sister has Deathly Hallows pre-ordered so < gets it when she's done.

V will share V's copy of Deathly Hallows after V's done with it.

^ Considering I'm not getting it, that's kind of a given.

< Fine. < will explain why < doesn't like HP.

SPOILER :
J. K. Rowling and I are about the same age. When I was growing up, my family couldn't afford child care, so they bought a home that had a library nearby. I was told to go straight to the library and wait for mom to get off her nursing job (8-5, btw) there. While there, I read a lot of children's books. Lots of them.

A few months after the first book came out, I saw one in a bookstore and started reading it. The main problem I have with HP is that NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING is original in it. I read about 1/5th of the book and kept going "Oh, you ripped this off from this book, this off from this other book, and this off from another book." Quiddich bares a striking resemblence to a game played in the 1970 children's book The Intergalactic Olympics. It was a game from another planet where the sentient creatures could fly. I don't remember the name of it, though. Also in that same book there was a completely cluessless man named Coach Muggle. There was another book about kid spies in Russia who had their secret base at "Station 9 3/4" Even Harry's look isn't original; there was a character in the Encyclopedia Brown series that looked EXACTLY like Harry without the lighting bolt scar.

I think J. K. Rowling is ending the series for two main reasons:

1) She's sick of all the HP porn on the internet

2) She's running out of ideas to rip off.

V Will *NEVER* click on that spoiler.

^ no, quamp I clicked on it.

< wonders how quamp, a serious anime fan, can dislike something only because its using borrowed methods and cookie cutter characters.

< knows of at least fourteen wizard of wizard like characters who looks like Harry Potter, some older, some younger. *Cough*Ponder Stibbons*cough*Lezard Valeth*cough*Kabuto*cough*

< is going to stop cutting apart quamp's arguments.

V should know that < had to change the q from a Q in quamp's name everytime < wrote the name.

^ is quite familiar with the anime stuff

< not nearly so familiar with anime, only knows what it is in general terms

v knows a bit more about anime than it's some animation thing where the characters have oversized eyes

Posted

^ anime is the Japanese word for animation, all of it, CG, American, whatever.

< knows that some crazed fans think Japanimation is an insulting term and so Anime caught on when referring to Japanese cartoons.

V crazed fan, on occasion
