96% percent of my stories are posted here in AFF. Mainly because they are far to sexually or violently explicit for FanFic...Although I did tone down a few of my Soprano's fanfics and posted them on FF...But my other stuff...Nah, I gotta post it here. It's just to adult rated for other sites...

Any of my Harry Potter fanfic just doesn't fall into what is popular at the moment (slash) since it is hetero and fairly dark. So again, no place else to post it.

And I have no idea how to post a story on LJ or any other place. Most of my stories are original and vary from Mafia themes to strong BDSM and even fetish stuff like ponyplay. I have posted a few of my ponyplay stories to a ponyplay fetish site, but again that is about it. I do have a few stories that are published professionally (erotica). But I always try and throw stuff out to AFF first.

So I would say, yes. I am quite loyal to AFF.

I post on AFF, FFN and my LJ. I also have one archive for Silent Hill that I update on occasion. FFN is the only place I can post my tutorials since AFF took down the resource section :)

I'm new to AFF. I started out posting at LJ, and still do. I recently started posting my fictions at Deviantart.com, because I have friends there who claim to be too lazy or clueless to read it on LJ  Gotta love 'em!

I started posting here, mostly because my long fic didn't really fit well into the subject matter of my LJ community, and I thought it might find a better audience here.

Since I have started this thread, I have written two Originals, one FanFic for a computer game and am working on two more originals. The first original I have already posted here and at another site (Literotica)that I frequent more than AFF (sadly AFF is actually a niche market and too many of the stories posted here are just greek to me since I have no clue (or don't want to have a clue) about those genres but to be fair, without Literotica, I would never have found this site.

I have a couple of fanfics on FFN, as well as its 'originals' mirror, FictionPress.com, but ever since I found AFF, I've been posting all my work here. I guess maybe it's because I'm perverted? :)

At the risk of sounding like some sort of anarchist or something, I really don't keep up with the politics and lashing out that's going on with the site and forums. I came here to write and enjoy other people's works, hoping that readers enjoy my work as well. As long as nothing interferes with that, I'll continue to post my stuff here for people to enjoy.

For me it was kind of the opposite. I found AFF first and I'm thankful for that - gave me a place to come back to when Lit caused more harm than good for me

I post my strictly-smut stories on AFF, but for me it's now a secondary archive.

There was an upheaval in AFF in early 2006 which left me a little skittish of the community, and at that time I pulled back from it and moved to LJ and another fanfic archive that allows me to post ALL my stuff, both the smut (which is filtered to trip parental controls) and non-smut.

honestly, I have a completely different gripe against Fanfiction.net  and it has nothing to do with their anti-smut tendencies (I did stop posting my naughty stories there, but, recently, I've seen so many explicit NC-17 fics there that I've gone back to posting smut anyway).

What really ticks me off about fanfiction.net (and with this site too, to a lesser extent) is all the auto-formatting and character exclusion they put your file through before it shows up on their site.

So, for example, I have a website for my AU story, to help readers learn more about it if they're interested, to answer questions if they're confused.  Maps of the AU, extra info on characters, plot summaries, etc. You know, just something I thought would be nice for them.

I can't have a link to my site, even though it's relevant to the story, on fanfiction.net  I can't even type in the full domain name.  It has to be whenshootingstarsfallDOTcom  Putting in .com gets that line erased (no matter what else was on it), as well as (for no reason) the line following it.

In addition, I have seen entire page breaks disappear from stories.  Seen carefully placed line breaks and spacing simply mucked to a 'one line break, everything pushed to the far left side' standard, boring as hell format.  Special things like "[Connection 2:] The phone is answered."  Turn into "[Connection : The phone is answered."   Different font sizes?  Please.  You'd need to be a whiz at their crappy editor to get those through.

I love writing, but I'm not a big fan of the standard static format.  Sometimes, tweaking things can really throw a different light on a scene or bit of dialogue.  It gives you a VISUAL medium to reach the reader

through that's more than just the actual words on the page.  But there's almost no support out there on fanfiction sites for things like this.  And it especially pisses me off on fanfiction.net because they don't anywhere explain what things aren't allowed or why.

That aside, I post here, aarinfantasy forums, fanfiction.net, mediaminer.org (not the best site, but one I've never had any trouble with in all my years there) and on the Gundam Wing archive.  I try to share my writing with as many people as possible, even if I have to deal with fuckheads sometimes...

So, yeah, I suppose I have somewhat of an ego about it...  but not enough to not post there.

I haven't submitted any of my work else where... and actually, was talked into writing a story on AFF. The story ended up being popular to my surprise. Though I am not huge on just plain smut, I like my stories and the ones I read have plots to them, smut can be in it, just, not the only main thing to a story you know. So I guess you can call me picky. >_> I have yet to cross the SMUT line though. XD;

This site seems to be the most liberal, free site on the net. Correct me if I'm wrong. Where else can you post true "sicko" stuff and roam free?

Fanfiction.net- "Okay, we'll take your stuff as long as there's nothing controversial/sexual about it."

Ficwad- "We''l post your stuff but asbsolutely NO ONE will comment."

Even within genre you come up against odd limitations. For instance, TPMM will take Harry Potter fiction with the weakest plots ever so long as you don't spell a canon word incorrectly.

AFF is the best site I've come across for many reasons. Number one they don't police you just because they have a god complex. Number two, they let you write as you want to write, without putting the god-like smack down on your writing.

(soapbox time) Censorship is the ultimate dumbing down. Anyone who tells you you can't use the word X_______ just because "everyone else" is offended by it doesn't deserve your patronage; there is no such thing as a bad word. There are ideas, concepts and applications that push the limits, but words themselves must always, always be allowed.

Previously on this thread, I mentioned that I would never post to FF.net because of moral reasons, well lately I found that my morals have always been questionable. Yes, you guessed it, I am now archived on Ff.net. Why? Because I am a review whore. It makes me keep writing and gives me the energy and spirit to not get frustrated with my writing processes. It's a sad fact, but more people review on ff.net than several of the other sites I've been on. However, I have found a way around the censorship thing. I have posted my very controversial fic 'The Definition of Love' there. It has incest and a few other dark subjects, but since it doesn't have any sex in it, it's not against the rules and quite a few people seem to like it there. I have considered posting Gundam Wing Hentai as the ultimate screw you, but the site has not stopped being useful to me yet. Maybe in the future, I'll see if I can get away with it. I mean, do the people running the site read every fic for contract violations or do they rely on the readers tattling on each other?

I only post on AFF.net right now. I put up a few of my early stories on Literotica, but they sucked so you're not missing anything. I've come a long way as a writer thanks to a few good betas I've come across. I haven't been to Literotica in ages. My biggest bitch with them is I tried to change my email on my account and they fucking locked me out of it and supposedly mailed me a new authentication code to get back in it which I never got. I emailed their tech support and got nothing.

The mods here actually like.. um... respond and fix problems. Nifty.org is another place I go to read, but I don't post there.
