NightScribe Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Well, it's that time of year, when the masses will gather 'round the t.v. in homes and bars, piles of artery clogging food and brain cell killing alcohol within easy reach, as they all eagerly tune in to watch....Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl III!!!! (I kid, I kid.) Seriously, anybody watching the game this weekend, or is it a non-event to you, opting instead to gainfully employee yourselves with writing (or wanking to) dirty little stories? If watching, which team do you favor, or don't you care? I'll say this much; it ain't 1985. Quote
Guest echtrae Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 They may not be the Monsters of Midway from 1985, but I'll still be cheering for the same team I've always cheered for, da Bears. Quote
Guest Agaib Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Whats this weekend again? I'm inferring that it's probably the Super Bowl but I wasn't aware it was that time already... Quote
Guest Serenanna Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Given the Eagles lost in the playoff (it's the William Penn curse I tell you!), this event is sort of a non-event for me and the rest of the family. The man of the house, second-best cook, and biggest sports fan (Dad) is also working that day, leaving the rest of us to our own devices. Doesn't mean we probably won't order out for cheesesteaks though (from the steak shop Dad works at on weekends) and not watch the opening antics and the new commercials. Yeah, we're traditional like that. Lots of soda, lots of chips, and maybe some ice-cream on the menu too. After half-time, I'll at least stop watching and do something, like crawling back to my computer (I'm not addicted, I swear!). Sere Quote
dazzledfirestar Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Actually, its all about the snacks for me. I know who's playing... I don't care who wins, and I'll watch the half time show. But the wings, and spring rolls and other yummy treats are what I'm really in it for. Quote
Nanaea Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 I just tune in for the commercials and the half-time show. The snacks are just a bonus. Quote
EveKnight75 Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 Don't watch sports, don't play sports, Super Bowl means nothing to me. Frankly, I'm getting swamped with papers again and there's way too much work to do elsewhere. I think I'll just take advantage of the Super Bowl deals floating around and order discount-price pizza to munch on while I do my work. Well, if I can get pizza at a much lower price, then I suppose Super Bowl does mean something to me after all. Quote
polywolly Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 My husband and I will be cheering for the Colts. That was my father-in-law's favorite team. Since he isn't around to cheer them on anymore, we have to pick up the slack. Go Colts!!! Rub some dirt on it! Quote
Guest Madapple Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 oh, is that this weekend? Nope, not on my agenda. I think I have to paint things. Quote
redsliver Posted February 2, 2007 Report Posted February 2, 2007 I've never enjoyed watching sports so while everyone else is watching the Super Bowl, feeling smugly superior because they're "only watching for the ads," I'll steal cars. Quote
NightScribe Posted February 2, 2007 Author Report Posted February 2, 2007 I've really slacked off with the writing lately and feel incredibly guilty, so I'll be diligently trying to wrap up my next chapter this weekend. I'll probably put the game on for background noise. Quote
