Guest Knorg Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 Now, maybe it's just me... but Angelina Jolie strikes me as the kind of person who does. She's got that... air of... uh... I know it's all about how their PR people and the media in general portray 'em, but of all the oscar winning actresses of the past ten years she seems to skirt closest to the edge of sexual deviance. Keven Federline probably does because it's not like the waster has anything else to occupy his time. He'd have to find it first of course. Could probably find some anti-fan fiction... Hmm... Thoughts? Quote

DarkCabaret Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 I don't know Angelina Jolie is hot and knows it so she probably would read them just to see how fans think her sex life is. I think maybe Alan Rickman would. I know my mom and I think the same about him .... which is scary but interesting to say the least. He's hot and not many people truly appreciate the rickman-ness he has! Quote
Guest DarkAvenger Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 I have no idea who would, but honestly, if I were some huge celebrity, if I knew about fanfiction existing, I would for sure go and read at least some of it and comment under my own name and no one would EVER believe it was me. Guest echtrae Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 DA, you're probably right. Most of the users on such a site would assume that any comments made would likely be a troll. Quote
EveKnight75 Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 I'm with DA. If I ever ended up becoming famous and people wrote celeb-fics about me, I'd read them. I'd also comment on them under my public pseudonym. (I do like my real name because it's unique, but I'm not sure if I'd stick to it as an author, musician, or actress). Just to take it a step further, I'd probably write celeb-fics about myself and post them under my public pseudonym. I'd be writing out my own fantasies starring myself, posting them online for the world to see, and no one would be the wiser. Of course, I'd have to be careful about what I save on my hard-drive so that no one finds out . It'd be a measured form of insanity, but a great way to strike a balance between hiding my private life from the media and sharing it with the world at the same time. As for which celebs read about themselves, it's tough to guess. I think that if anyone ever wrote fanfiction about JK Rowling instead of HP, she'd read it. There's this one actress named Ashley Leggat, who stars in a show called Life with Derek, and on her MySpace, she has admitted to reading fanfiction for the show. Apparently, the majority of her fans kept asking about something called "Dasey". They wanted to know if the show planned on creating a romantic relationship between her character (Casey) and her step-brother, Derek. A search on the term led her to FF, she started reading the Dasey fics, and she hasn't given it up because it helps her keep up with the questions she gets. I think that if she ever reaches the point where she's famous enough to warrant celeb-fics, she'd read them and admit it, if only to claim that it's "for research purposes". Now for the celebs who have warranted fics about themselves. I think Paris Hilton might, simply because she strikes me as the type of person who'd love to hear about other people fantasizing about her. I think Anna Nicole Smith might have as well. Who else? I think every celebrity who experiences a slump and feels like a has-been would be tempted to read fiction about themselves in the interim for the sake of remembering the glory days. I think celebrities who go overboard in their attempts to maintain a specific rep would scour the net and attempt to sue everyone who wrote celeb fiction about themselves. Of course, they'd have to read a few to start presenting a case. Quote
StoryJunkie Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 Do you realize now, that I'm going to think one of you at least is already a celeb? My mind is so easily twisted. Anna Nichole died this morning, Eve.... Quote
EveKnight75 Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 I know SJ. That's why I used the past tense. I think she might have read celeb fics about herself back when she was alive. For all you know, one of us might be a celeb, but if we are, obviously we're not gonna tell. I can confidently state that I am not a celebrity. I do have a few famous relatives (but only one of them is known world-wide and that was about 40 years ago), and my own name had been published when I was a kid thanks to the fact that a few of my stories have ended up in those "by kids, for kids" collections. That means that I am most definitely not famous. Does that ease your mind at all? Quote
Guest DarkAvenger Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 *Snort* I don't even want to think about me being a celebrity... if I do somehow become famous, it'll be for something geeky and inevitably engineering related, lol. So um... lesse... what about people we wish would read celebrity fiction of themselves? lol (Oh ye forum overlord forgive me if this means I'm "off topic". If I am, just move my post elsewhere, lol.) I wish... *thinks* I started to say I wish that Die (Guitarist from Dir en grey) would read fanfics about himself... but you know what? There's so much shit out there that I pray to god he doesn't. He'd be disgusted and start to hate it all, especially if he stumbled upon some of the bad fic first... god help any celeb that ends up down that route... it'd turn them against it in a heartbeat. Guest DarkAvenger Posted February 9, 2007 Report Posted February 9, 2007 I read Redsliver Fanfiction. *snickers* Quote
Hermione Malfoy Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 I don't know Angelina Jolie is hot and knows it so she probably would read them just to see how fans think her sex life is.I think maybe Alan Rickman would. I know my mom and I think the same about him .... which is scary but interesting to say the least. He's hot and not many people truly appreciate the rickman-ness he has! I disagree about Angelina Jolie being hot... she's overly primped up Barbie Doll as far as I'm concerned. Alan Rickman on the other hand... hmm. He has actually admitted to knowing zip about computers and even less about the internet, so I doubt he does... thank goodness! Blond Pratt.. er I mean, Brad Pitt probably does. He's egotistical enough. That's all I can think of. Jk Rowling has actually admitted to reading Harry Potter fanfiction and she loves it. She likes to encourage authors. She has actually said that most of the things that ends up in Fanfiction are right.... which begs the question about what will happen. Most fics I've read Ron dies. I hope he does. Quote
Guest orleans Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 It'sdifficult to say who could be reading those stories about themselves. I mean, apart from the few glimpses we get from the stars, we don't really know much about them, how their minds are working etc.... But on the other hand they are just people like you and I, and it would not surprise me if they read stories about themselves. I certainly would do it Quote
iolaus Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 (edited) I might be 'tipping my hand' here, but I spent my high school years in and around the studios in Burbank, California and even though you hear a lot of squawking about 'personal privacy' from the stars/celebrities*, there has to be a basic human element of curiosity about these sites and stories. Look at us as a group, fairly diverse bunch I'd venture to guess and yet, we're all brought together by fanfiction. Now, true we love the hot and sexy stories, what 'normal' person does not enjoy being turned-on? If they say otherwise, their lying. Like the old psychiatrist's joke: '95% of people masturbate, the rest are lying about it'. Everyone who can read above a 5th grade level has probably read some kind of erotica in their lifetime, even if they deny ever doing so. it is human nature to be curious about sexuality wether it is one's own or other people's. Personally, if I were the subject of said writings, I'd have to read them just to get an idea of what people imagine and/or think of me as a person or 'celebrity'. Although, I admit finding it a little disturbing when someone wants to put another person into situations involving things like, beastiality, kiddie porn, ect. I know it's just a story, not real, but to each thine own, right? Just not my cup o' tea. *I differentiate between 'stars' and 'celebrities' as there are those with class and talent, then there are those who will do anything to be seen and talked about. I leave it to those here to decide which specific individuals are which. Edited January 11, 2008 by iolaus Quote
