I absolutely HATE with a fricken BURNING passion when a writer can not stay in the correct verb tense throughout a story. I see so many writers starting to do it on fanfiction.net like a fricken plague. Luckily, I've only seen a few stories like that over here, but I know they're here too. Examples? I can list a TON of stories where it happens, but just as an example of what of what I see over and over again: "He finally awoke. His vision is still blurry, but he already knows he isn’t at home or at the hospital. As his vision cleared, he saw the seat in the corner. The figure was sprawled out (as much as it could be), his silver hair is tasselled from the rain storm the night before." As you can see, it switches from that crappy present tense, to past tense, back to present tense. To me, it starts to read like stage directions and drives me insane! A lot of it is from young writers and it makes me wonder if they're paying attention in their classes. I don't pretend to be a grammar expert, and its been about ten years since I've been in any high school classroom, but even I know that's not right. It doesn't even flow, and it was harder for me to trying and write a sample of what is above than to do it correctly.

Adding a story: 1) Access your author's panel by going to member's tools and Author panel. 2) Look on the menu to your left at the top, {make SURE you select the correct area of the site. It automatically defualts to Anime, but you can choose from that drop down menu and select 'GO') select option that says 'ADD Story' under story functions. 3) Select your Title, input your summary, make sure to put your disclaimer, you MUST state that you don't own the fandom, using the fandom name, and state that you don't make any money. EXAMPLE: I do not own final fantasy 7 and make no money from writing this story. KEEP IN MIND, ORIGINAL STORIES AND STORIES ABOUT CELEBRITIES HAVE THEIR OWN FORMAT FOR THE DISCLAIMERS. 4) In the first drop down menu that says CATEGORY, select the appropriate category 5) In the second drop down menu, select the appropriate subcategory Example: Het Male/Female, Male/Male, Female/Female, etc 6) Select your appropriate story codes. 7) If you wish for other people to be able to add a chapter to your story, change the no to a yes in the third drop down, if not, leave it as is. 8) You then choose the title, then either use Text Area (copy/paste) your chapter to the text area (thats my personal preference) or upload a saved document. Keep in mind that some coding will cause portions of your story to disappear, especially if saved in html format (Which is why I choose to copy/paste) 9) Enter the reCaptcha codes and press NEXT 10) upload or copy paste your story into the text area and hit PREVIEW 11) Review the information on the next page, If correct, select PUBLISH 12) CHECK YOUR STORY TO MAKE SURE IT IS FORMATTED CORRECTLY. If there are parts missing, or some other issue, what I do is copy the text from ms word or open office into notepad to try and get rid of any coding that may be causing the problem. If you're trying to do bold, italics or underlines, you'll want to use tags such as <b>bold </b>, <i>italics</i> <u>underline</u> It all seems like a lot, but after you do it for the first time, its really easy. I have no programming skills at all and there are things that I do that need no knowledge of that kind of thing. Taking care of this site, ALL aspects of it, is very labor intensive and since there are so few of us, it goes slowly. We cant help that and we're going as quickly as possible, but we're not going to stress ourselves out further, especially during this time of hardships that everyone seems to be going through. Back in march or april of last year (or probably even before that), there was a notice that appeared on all of the main pages of each sub domain asking for volunteers to help with the site cleanup and only a few people responded, but we did our damndest to try and do what needed to be done. That notice just recently disappeared off the list because of the news updates that have occured in the past few weeks. The need for volunteers to help with that clean up is still there. It involves sitting in front of your computer, looking at EACH story in EACH subdomain, creating a list of/removing unfics, look at EACH chapter of a story (some with 100+ chapters) to make sure that the author link is there and there are no processing errors from the crash that happened before this small group of volunteer techies, admins and moderators came to be and documenting those that do have them so that they can be corrected. We also have to decipher what pairing the story is for and putting them into a spreadsheet so DG can play musical chairs and move them to the appropriate category on the site.. That is not always easy, believe me, especially if you've never heard of/read/seen/played the series that is being worked at the moment. That is only SOME of the things that we have to do when doing the cleanup. Along with that project, each day, we have to go through and make sure that people are doing their disclaimers correctly and send reviews to those who don't. While personally, I don't understand why it so damn difficult it is to do a proper disclaimer, it happens every single day. That take hours, but we still do it. Sometimes real life decides to bitchslap us all and that task is delayed for a couple days. When that happens, categories like Harry Potter and Originals, just to name a couple, have PAGES of updates to look through. You sometimes get what I dub 'Disclaimer hypnosis' because of the hundreds of stories that we look at. With both of those projects, we have to keep our eyes peeled for minors, plagiarists, trolls, spammers, etc, and get those taken care of. We can't just go delete whoever we suspect to be a minor or a plagiarist, there is investigation that is needed before action can be taken and that takes time as well. So you see, there is a lot to be done. The logo is the last of anyone's concerns. Since this new group has taken the reins, I don't remember having a site crash or having a time where I haven't been able to access the site for several hours or days at a time. Dg's....Jaxxy's....Manta2g's time, ALL of our time is otherwise occupied. We don't have time to go person to person to solicit help from members. Thats what the announcement was about. We can't make people respond, we can all just hope that people will take a few moments, read these requests when they're put on the news page (even though personally, I think that everyone should be checking out that news page to watch for site changes/updates on a regular basis, they don't.) People can just ASK an admin here in the forum what they can do to try and help move things along instead of turning their noses up when something isn't moving fast enough or if something happens that they don't like or if something they WISH would happen, doesn't.

You're right with the steps: 1) Enter your author panel 2) Under story functions, slect 'Edit Story' 3) From the first dropdown menu, select the story. 4) From the second dropdown menu, select 'Edit details' 5) In the summary field, edit it to your hearts content. There is a character limit for the summary field. I think it maxes out at 255 characters including spaces. That might be why you can't add anything to it. I suggest that if you need to add a lot more, just make a full summary at the start of your first chapter. Hope that helps!

I'm not a techie, so I don't know if that would be easy to do or not, but one thing you can try to try and narrow down the stories with the Beastiality is to use the search feature and type in +Tai (or the characters full name, I've never seen digimon) +Sora -Beast (or beastiality). The next option, select story summary, Make sure you check the option that says 'MySQL boolean search mode'. You get a few more results if you just use Tai instead of Taichi. We have not reached the anime section and wont reach that area for a while since the group volunteering to scan and clean up the archive is not large. While we've all made progress in what our tasks are, there are thousands upon thousands of stories to move, sort and look over for errors.

Oh hell no. I'd say screw it too and find something else to read. I mean, shit, its FANFICTION. They're not Stephen King or anything like that. While there are stories that are excellent (that I'm more than happy to review), bashing or banning someone because they DON'T review...no way.
