Y’all scare me. Also the brothers have pointed out they modernised from brethren and so I withdraw my objection to talking about the brother.

You, DP, I totally take for granted. No, I’m kidding. You don’t fascinate me, sorry, but I am often impressed and amused by you.

Why don’t we talk about the Ox? Same reason we don’t talk about the child or the brother. Oh, sure, they’re fine on their own. Just peachy keen. But get them together with others of their kind and the modern S plural isn’t good enough for them, no sir. No, they need the old plural. The forgotten plural. The en plural from the times of darkness, So we don’t talk of the Ox, we don’t think of the Ox and we certainly don’t BOX THE OX,

At least with those, there’s continuity between the stories.  (Wizard of Oz, right?)

I remember Livejournal boning itself. Every few months there’d be some change and then hysterical drama over the news comm or wherever with people moving to journalfen or dreamdwidth or some other site to talk about how bad LJ was for something they did, like the plus accounts or whatever. They banned gobbledegook from being an interest at one point and that led to even more rage. Then it was bought out by a Russian company and still remains pretty popular in that neck of the woods I think. I’m sort of nostalgic to go look at my old LJ accounts now…
Still, we can all laugh about Rupert Murdoch buying Myspace and losing a shitload of money. Right?

I always laugh at Rupert Murdoch losing a shitload of money, but then again, I think that’s a mark in my favor.
LJ was where I debuted Morwen Navarre, my erotica-writing alter ego. But LJ getting bought by a Russian company was about the last straw for me, given the nature of what I write. The having to pay for everything was bad enough, but I just ignored that. The occasion when my LJ account was inexplicably changed to a Japanese language account was a bit awkward, since I couldn’t read anything to figure out how to change it back, and the support staff was less than supportive. I miss the old LJ, actually, and if they ever revert to being a useful site, I might consider making an account again. But not while it’s owned by people who kill people for doing what I write about. I have to have some scruples.

I’m taking something called tizanidine. Makes me sleepy at the wrong times, but there are worse side effects to have.
BTW, it’s my left shoulder, and I’m right-handed, so I’m afraid JD’s theory is incorrect.

I do most of my writing on the desktop, fortunately, and everything is either Google Docs or saved to flash drives as well as hard drives, so it’s not a lot to recover. All my really important stuff resides on the desktop, and gets backed up to external hard drives as well.
But I’m getting much better at selective deafness, especially at home…

Ah.. you can’t get me there. One does not simply forget Celebrian.
And honestly? Given the choice between that and Legolas by Laura… ? Compared to that Celebrian was actually kind of well-written, and in some ways much easier to stomach, as it were. I know which one would make me scream first if put on constant repeat, and it’d be the one without proper use of full stops and commas…
If only Celebrian had been written withoutthe endless bucketloads of semen, unrealistic horse and warg rape, and with just a little bit more attention to the elements of psychological torture and horror elements… wait, what am I saying?!
Sorry. Yes. *dutifully falls into line*
Still wonders if it could be saved, privately.
