Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (Douglas Adams) is a good one.  Other authors I can name, Arthur C. Clark, Isaac Asimov, Orson Scott Card, Heinlein.

I was a lot like JayDee, except without the booze. I actually hated it on principle, because in my family we had an automatic dislike for anything too mainstream and I thought it was all just blah relationship drama. Then a few years after, while it was in its season… 5? Or 6? I dunno. Near its last season. I just suddenly started watching it and ended up bingewatching like crazy! Which was easy kuz like every single channel was playing reruns of it. 
But then I got sick of it again lol. Mostly Ross. I got sick of Ross.

Sorry to hear of your family troubles Pippychick. I’m lucky in that I get on with the family that I know, but pretty much everyone else has someone they don’t get on with. And your mother’s medical problems, be good if ya do have Monday off! I’ve heard of the Whitby Goth Festival, as a fan of Dracula I wouldn’t mind visiting one time but probably not when the festival’s on.
I don’t even know that there’s 25 new posts a day to like, but did once find out that there’s also a lick limit.

Was that a typo or intentional, “like” vs “lick”, I’m trying to imagine the software trying to enforce a lick limit – too much oral for you!

Rank – you can change this to what you want under settings edit profile – it’s called something like “user title.”  There used to be a minimum post requirement to change it long ago, (and at one point there was a “shop” item to change other users userpics/status which hooboy led to drama.) but I don’t know if that’s still in force so change it to what you want. I have mine as “Hello World.” At one point if not changed it would “level up” at various post levels but I don’t know if that’s still a setting on the forum or if it now just sticks on Virgin until manually changed in profile.
Reputation – I think this is mostly based on the number of likes you have received on your posts. There may be other factors. 
Dragon prints – as stated, these are story hits.
There is a subforum for forum questions which you might get quicker answers in. The thing with multiple status updates in a short time is that it floods the feed!
