A link on reddit that doesn’t go to Rick Astley singing “Never gonna give you up”? It had to happen sometime!
Thanks! And it’s never too late to leave copious reviews :p

I wrote more on the first page of this thread than I have in the last 12 months.

The review button isn’t broken, but for some reason, most readers seem reluctant to review. We’ve never had anything comparable to the kudos you find on other archives, although we do have the dragon prints, which is the hit counter, showing how many times your story was accessed. We did away with the old ratings of 1-5 +’s because we found it was being abused. Readers were targeting stories that didn’t have their OTP, or because the story was getting more hits than a friend’s story, or because the author’s posting of a story or update bumped them off the “front” page. We’re all still pretty wary after that, and I doubt we’ll have anything like kudos or likes or thumbs-up anytime soon in the archive.
As far as whether or not to keep posting, I have some stories with no reviews. I have others that garner reviews. After an unfortunate incident which resulted in all my stories being deleted, I’m slowly editing and reposting, but all the previous reviews are gone. So… I post anyway because I’m not writing just to squirrel it away on my hard drive. Maybe people are reading, and not reviewing. That’s fine. When I read for pleasure (and not as part of my moderator duties), I try to review because I know I like getting a comment, or even some good constructive criticism. (The key word is constructive here… just saying.) But that’s my choice, to post anyway, even if no one drops a line to comment.

I have been wondering the same thing. I just posted a few chapters of my newest fic, a Cold Case fic, and have 141 prints but no reviews. Is the button broken or something???What’s going on??? Should I stop posting it??? And there’s no kudos. How do we know they didn’t just click on it and move on?

I thought this was a good point, so I went and added the WIP tag to my in-progress stories.

@Desiderius Price was actually correct. It’s the tag for  Work In Progress, i.e, a story which is not yet complete.
We do have readers who won’t read an unfinished story, and they do appreciate the tag, although it’s not one the moderation staff will insist appear in the story tags.  Like the “COMPLETE” tag, we view it as a discretionary tag.

I agree with JayDee...WIP signals a story where the author is revising the posted chapters.

I suppose it could also be used by an author that is looking for input how the story should develop...but I really doubt such prompt would work. Getting feedback from users is not very simple in the first place and putting a WIP tag on the story can hardly make it more easy.

Chapter 1 of “Rashōmonster” is up! Fred is injured in an accident when he encounters Go Go and Wasabi at the lab after hours. But why are all three of them lying about what happened? (Spoiler alert: Because sex)
Also, Eh Steve read “Monsters” over at Hentai Foundry and also commented on the similarity to Ghastly’s Ghastly Comic. Now that I’ve seen the tentacle monster in said comic, I can see why – even the tentacle monster’s eye-stalks are like Takito’s.

I’ve never actually used the WIP tag. I always figured that if the story doesn’t have either the COMPLETE tag or the Oneshot tag, then it’s clear the story is still in progress. (Not that the COMPLETE tag actually stops commenters from asking about what will happen in the next chapter.)

Sometimes they just need cleaning up a little, hence the expression “Bring a bucket and a mop for this work in progress.”

Thanks! This was a big experiment for me, as I had never written a dialogue-only story before. But with only two characters, it seemed doable; I think it would have been much harder with even one more.
I’m actually not big on ageplay myself. But when I learned about littles, I saw a lot of potential for comedy in a grown woman wanting to act like a little girl.
Thank you! I had so much fun writing this one. And I definitely made use of the “the submissive is the one in control” trope.
One of those “getting what you need instead of what you want” situations.
Thanks again, and thanks for the review!

Making it a comedy seemed too predictable; I’m sure someone (or many someones) have done a tentacle-monster-gets-raped comedy already. I thought it would be more interesting to go the other way with it.
BTW, if you want to see my attempt at a rape comedy, check out “A Little Goes a Long Way.”
I’m not sure she ever leaves the library; her web is probably on the ceiling. Makes for a short commute.
Thanks! I was trying to make them believable mean-teens.
Some blobby monsters are capable of empathy, others not so much.
Thank you, and thanks for the review!

No, I didn’t perceive them that way at all.
Thanks! As the title implies, monstrousness is more about behavior than how many limbs you have.

Definitely an interesting way to go about it -I hope it didn’t seem like my thoughts were negative/critical on the theme – I’ve written gangrape stuff myself after all!– but a testament to your writing skills in making the tentacle monster really sympathetic! I’ll have a look at the other one at some point, possibly not today
“Do you have any books on the supremacy of the aryan race?”
“...step into my parlour.” *puts lunch break sign out*
    No probs!

Damn it all! Those malware injected old sites are why we can’t have nice things
At least there’s still the Sexy Losers strip that partially inspired it which is very NSFW  – https://www.sexylosers.com/comic/016/

@FairySlayer, I tried that link in a couple of different browsers, and they both warned me that it wasn’t safe to go there. Maybe it really IS ghastly.
