    figures ... I finally get a job interview in my current field, and the "partner" decides she needs a break and is going to turn over most of the work to me. :( Guess I'm still self-employed.

      Your "partner" sure needs a lot of breaks. Is it possible that she's staffblocking you? Don't let her know the next time you get an interview and wait until the last minute to spring it on her, the way she seems to do to you. ...? Then again, look at how well I deal with others and decide how far to run from my advice. :)
