  3. They're like unwanted and unliked relatives; they just never get the hint.
  4. No, they don't read the bloody rules. I've nuked it.
  5. 14023 No worries.
  6. If anyone here has Kindle, would they recommend them? Thinking about the 3G model.

I LOVE mine! I highly recommend them! They are the format that you can get the most books for actually.

We don't use pence in Australia, but no, I've never seen or even heard of that happening here. lol

  12. I tell you what I did to help me with my writing in the early days: I read books by good published authors and paid attention to how they wrote. I say authors, plural, instead of author, singular, because you need to be exposed to different authors and different writing styles. And another thing to do is to keep writing and keep trying to improve! Oh, and just because one single person doesn't like a particular thing you do doesn't mean that it's wrong. It might simply mean that this one person doesn't like that style, while everybody else does.
  13. Points of view that change around constantly within the one scene... for that to work, it has to be written very well. Otherwise, it can have the tendency to be at least a little off-putting, if not outright difficult to follow. I also feel there needs to be a good reason for it to be written like that, since it's not a technique that I believe should be used in every story. It's also likely to come down to the personal preference of the reader. Some won't like it, no matter how well written it is, while others will be fine with it.
  14. *sigh* You watch, I've told relatives that not everyone will be able to stay here over Christmas, that some will have to make other plans, and I just know we'll be the ones that turn out to be the jerks. I hate Christmas sometimes.

::pats bench:: I hate it most of the time, so come sit on the curmudgeonly bench with me. Nothing like forced gaiety to make me cringe.

  15. If anybody thinks I'm going to be doing any writing whatsoever when Skyrim has recently been released is insane.

Hang in there Melrick. My family knows this one all too well. BIL undergoing surgery Tuesday for recurrence.

Thanks. Even the threat of cancer is like an axe hanging over your head, suspended by a startlingly thin rope. And good luck to you too DG.

  18. I'm also very touched at all the people that seem to be concerned with the size of my penis. I'm happy to say they definitely have no need to worry in that regards, but still, it's very sweet for so many people to offer to sell me products to enhance it even more that it already is.
  19. I've won so many international lotteries that I must be the worlds luckiest person! Funny how everything else in my life points to it being the complete polar opposite though... Still, just as soon as I send my details to them, the money will start rolling in.
  20. Na, it's nobody's fault, there just wasn't strong interest in it. Although if it's anybody's fault, it's mine.
  21. Note to self: If you're going to be waiting to chat with someone on MSN, you might want to try actually turning it on first.

Oh, dear, I hate when I do that.

  22. lol But of course! I know I can count on you.
  23. The Monthly Prompt challenge won't be continued for now due to lack of interest. Well, two people were interested - me and BronxWench - but that's it. If there seems like there might be a renewed interest in it at a later stage then I may try again.
  24. So, let me get this straight. 3 Aussie soldiers were killed by one of the Afghan soldiers they were training... again. I wonder how many times this will have to happen before they say "screw this" and bring them home?

  25. Oh I know, but doing it quickly is the odd thing.
