What makes you write in some fandoms and not others?
Sessakag replied to GeorgeGlass's topic in Personal Rants & Journals
Not even a tiny bit, if anything it adds fuel to the obsession š¤ I end up thinking of different ways whatever I watched could go down, or add some component to it that I think would spice up the interactions. Itās like a bottomless pit for me, I hyper focus on that one pairing and am not ever satisfied no matter how many times I get what I want out of it. Thatās a real shame, that throuple is quite a bit of fun š¤ -

Sessakag replied to GeorgeGlass's topic in Personal Rants & Journals
Unless a fandom has a pairing that I have, or am currently obsessing over, I donāt have any interest in writing for other fandoms, generally or pornographic-wise. Iām tunnel vision locked on to the otp thatās staying rent free in my mind. Not finding what I want really fuels my drive to write. If my fav fandom is not writing the things I want to read, I just go and write them myself. This is what really sparked me to write fanfiction to be honest, too many stories that wrote about the mechanics of sex but forgot the human aspect of it. I got tired of reading, rather than experiencing the story. Felt like robots inserting parts rather than living beings with feelings, intimacy and emotion based carnal hungers having sex, and there wasnāt much about the BDSM lifestyle outside exaggerated Fifty Shade of Grey nonsense, so I had to at least try and add my two cents š and donāt even get me started on the lack of NaruHinaSasu content š¢ -
How do you generally put forward a threesome/thruple pairing?
Sessakag replied to Deadman's topic in Writers' Corner
Iād say MFF then, since theyāre going to be intimate.. The proximity of the letters usually warns people ahead of time the nature of the dynamic, thatās the way I and everyone I know interprets it, and Iāve never read something where they use terms like that interchangeably. -

From my experience: MMF (implies there will be m/m sexual contact) while MFM (implies there is no m/m contact). I have two throuple fics, one with m/m interaction(labeled MMF) and one without (labeled MFM) so Iām think it would hold the same connotation for your category: MFM (if there is no female/female sexual contact and theyāre merely sharing the male) or MFF (if the two women will be sexually interacting). Go with whatever you feel is appropriate of course, this is just my anecdotal opinion, but thatās how Iāve always read the order and I donāt think Iāve ever read a threesome that didnāt follow that pattern. Never read a MFM that had M/M and vice versa. -
You have my sincerest condolences.

I have my work backed up in so many places nothing short of the planet exploding would make me lose a single piece of my work. I lost a story one time, years ago, and have been paranoid ever since.

Well that sucks...

Wow, okay, glad I didnāt click on anything.

So when I go to the archive and click on the home button, or just type in adult-fanfiction.org, I get sent to this page, and Iāve never seen it before today. Is this like an update to the site or something?

I say go for it. Iām participating in the nh fair and wrote a one-shot of a story I plan on writing later, there was huge support for it and the feedback I got was incredibly helpful in shaping my outline for it. I think itās a great opportunity to get a pulse on what kind of interest itāll generate and you might get some really unique ideas from your readers. Well worth a trial run.

I know that game, lol. I used to think it was a joke when writers would say that a story took on a life of its own, its so true. My Naruto fic Monster has truly become a monster. It was one of the few stories I knew the ending to but had to figure out a beginning, but I got soooo lost in the beginning and middle that itās become this 400,000 word smut collection (mostly) It was intended to be a 20 chapter smut/horror story, laying heavy on the psychological horror aspect but I just had so many ideas for this and that, and it just turned into idk wtf. Iām slowly getting back to its roots, lol, but now that itās gotten so huge, Iāve had no choice but to plan for two more parts after. Iāve put my foot down on going farther than a trilogy though, otherwise itād never end and Iāve got other stories I need to work on.

Hopefully this decade, Iām rooting for ya.

I envy you, lol. I get an idea and just start writing hoping I come with a ending later down the line. Iāve gotten a little more organized in the years of writing, but I still have that reckless, ālet me just start all over the placeā mentality that bites me later on.

Good Lord. I love long chapters but I think Iād be struggling with a 109k chapter. That is so awesome and so intimidating, lol.
-
I prefer writing and reading long chapters. I recently started dabbling in shorter chapters earlier in the year but my readers started asking for the longer chapters to return and since I have no self control, Iāve been slipping right back into the habit of long chapters. Thatās my biggest problem, I donāt know when to quit. Most of my chapters average 5k, but quite a few chapters are upwards of 15k, I think the longest was 18k š Iām shocked so many people are willing to read a chapter that long, but they do, and then ask for the next one to be just as long.

I see, thank you for answering!

Hi, Iāve gotten 4 reviews for three of my stories, but the emails are empty, when the site comes back online fully, will those reviews become readable for me or are they just lost to the ether? Thank in advance!

PSA for all Naruhina lovers, likers or appreciaters, thereās an event on tumblr starting December 1st. Here is the link: https://www.tumblr.com/nh2022 I will be posting one-shots for quite a few of the 30 available prompts and will be posting them on AO3, ff.net and wattpad. With Aff.org currently in read-only mode, itās not possible for me to post them here until the site is back up and running, but once it is, Iāll be sharing them here as well. So, feel free to read my contributions on the alternative sites once theyāre posted! If you plan on participating too, what do you have planned? Feel free to share! Hope you all enjoy the fair!

How much do you keep people waiting for what they want in your story?
Sessakag replied to Deadman's topic in Writers' Corner
I have varying reasons for holding off on revealing things. My primary reason is usually because I want situations to happen realistic or organic rather than thrown in just because readers want to see it. Other times, Iām just really evil and want readers to stew in angst for a while. It builds a deeper appreciation for the resolution of that angst in my opinion. Reviews are a funny thing, they can give a distorted picture of how interesting people find your story. My fanfic Secrets of the Hidden Leaf got more reviews when I wasnāt updating than it does now that itās being updated again(pre-hack) It made me think maybe my new chapters arenāt so great, maybe I should have started the threesome aspect ahead of schedule instead of following my plotted course, but then, on AO3, Iām getting tons of comments and kudos that contradict that thought process. I watch the read count go up, which means several hundred people are reading, but not saying anything, and while it could be taken as a positive that Iām not getting flamed, I also worry the story hasnāt moved them enough to say anything at all. With so much inconsistency, I tend to just go with my gut about when and what to hold back, I tell the story the way I want, taking the reader into account but not allowing them to drive where the story goes, if that makes any sense.
