Sometimes I get an idea for a story and as I start writing, it becomes much longer and more complex than initially planned.

http://cartoon.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600095297 it's finally done. Now I can finally move on to my next project, which is a story of a boy (again) helping a friend in need

I'll be honest: I don't like rushing. I've always hated having to get a story done every week instead of taking my time to make it something I'm proud of. That's why I gave up on deadlines this year and decided to take my time with my stories.

I honestly didn't think I'd be writing here for 2 years straight. I initially was just going to do Lilo's Lesbian Night and that's it. But then I got more ideas for fanfics, and the rest is history. Thanks for all the support guys and happy holidays

Unpopular opinion: I hate A Christmas Story; I hate the characters, I hate the story and I hate that infamous line "You'll shoot your eye out." -.-

I've asked myself this a lot when writing: does the length of a chapter matter?
-
It both does and doesn’t matter. In the end, it down to how much you wish to convey in a chapter to make your point. Onthe pragmatic, a really long chapter takes longer for the reader, and details might clutter; but a really short chapter might not have the depth you’re desiring (and readers constantly having to click for the next one). For each of my stories, I’ve got numbers in my head, a range, that if I’m too low or too high, I evaluate what I’m trying to do with the chapter, then decide to cut/add material, or merge/split chapters. More often, its on the high side and I’m splitting chapters.

Thanks a lot man

DP’s response is right on the money. I would add that a chapter should finish at a place that feels like a natural break in the story but that also whets the reader’s appetite for more. So the length of the chapter ought to be determined, in part, by how long it takes to reach such a point.

You know what's been bothering me all year? Matthew Santoro was domestically abused by his ex, Nicole Arbour, and she wasn't arrested for her actions. Fuck Nicole Arbour >:(

Writing is like losing weight; its hard work, but you make noticeable progress as you keep going.

Unpopular opinion: I hate The Golden Compass (both the book and movie). The characters are generic, the action is underwhelming and it's overall a giant "Fuck you!" to religious people >:(

http://cartoon.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600095210 now that that's done, time we travel to the past where a boy meets a beautiful girl during a small conflict in history
