And you might not be. I always felt that Mike Harrison's reaction to the twins' incest was over the top-- especially after he said that he was okay with it and then reversed himself. His actions to keep them apart (cell phone check-in) bordered on the paranoid. Now long after the situation has stabilized, he is still trying to justify his actions to Jack and attempting to make him agree with his rationale. Also, recall that Jack has always considered Tara to be "his sister," so maybe his perception is dead on.

I made the mistake of reading the chapter last night while watching the Chicago-Cleveland game (Cavs lost to the Bulls in the last second) and had to re-read most of it. Not bad at all-- considering how quickly Joe got it out. I liked how Alan is coming into his own as a member of the group and is not just "Jacks' brother" anymore. Arm-wrestling Joe to a stalemate got everyone's respect and I think will give Alan the confidence he needs to ask Kelly to be his girlfriend. The problem with the Hannigans is getting worse and I'm wondering if there's going to be an unpleasant surprise for Kayla when she gets home..

Thanks Joe, we appreciate it. Best wishes and have a great weekend.

What he said. ^^^ Take your time, Joe. If you don't get it up till Monday, well, we've still got the NBA playoffs

Congratulations to your brother on his academic achievement! I know your whole family is very proud.
-
Amanda- Chloe Grace Moretz I don't suppose that Ms. Moretz has a twin brother? Alan and Amanda being identical twins is key to the story.
-
Jack is more stocky than that although the hair is about right, and I believe both Kayla and Tara are blondes. More like Amanda I think.

I am so stealing that pic. She is beautiful.

Not to be a spoiler, but the moral dilemmas in Man of Steel are with both Jor-El and Johnathan Kent. Most people would be fortunate to have one good father; Kal-El had two.
-
Hope it doesn't come to that. Women who give ultimatums had better be prepared to live with the consequences. Recall that Jack has said that the job at GameStop turned out to be an important part of his life.

I'm very interested in finding out the story behind Rhona. Remember Jack telling Brad that he got the only position available at GameStop? So this girl breezes in and ten minutes later she has a job? Okay, obviously she worked there before but is she just added on or is maybe Mac or Paul leaving? With her brains and other "attributes" she is no doubt very good at selling games to young guys. Yeah, she's definitely going to mess with Jack.

I admit that I need to get caught up on Arrow. Since I'm sitting around the house for the next month I'll check out the back episodes on Netflix. As for the re-boot of Oliver Queen, that seems to be more or less routine these days. Truth be told-- Green Arrow was never an A-list superhero (although one of my favorites) so I guess the producers/ writers thought they could do as they please.

Okay, maybe I was a little harsh. Superman (1978?) was notable because of the special effects. For the first time, he actually looked like he was flying. Story could have been better. In Superman 2 the story WAS better and, of course, there was the fight with Zod. The last two movies were completely forgettable and killed the series as sure as green Kryptonite. Superman Returns was a definite improvement and I liked the way they used the Marlon Brando/ Jor-El footage and voice-over to tie in with the earlier movies. ...and I loved Smallville.

Too dark? Compared to the Christopher Reeve movies? C'mon, those were laughable. IMHO, Man of Steel is refreshingly dark-- just like the Dark Knight trilogy was so much better than all the Batman movies that came before it.
-
Joe, Agree on Man of Steel-- the best superhero movie ever (with all due respect to the Dark Knight trilogy). There's something about Superman that just can't be topped. Plus,he's very big here in Ohio. Just praying that the sequel is as good.

The only thing I can come up with is that the bickering between the Hannigans is job-related. Nothing that Joe has written (or that Kayla has said) has hinted at any marital trouble between them before now. Maybe Mary has been offered a more lucrative political job but Chester doesn't want to uproot the family and move again. Any other thoughts on what the problem might be?

Perfect timing, Joe! I just got home from the rehab facility this afternoon. Fell in love with a pretty, red-headed nurse but my insurance company killed that relationship. Three or four weeks of out-patient therapy and exercising will hopefully have me to near normal. Looking forward to the new chapter!

Yeah, that did bring back memories! I recall on the last day every classroom having a large trash can just for that purpose. Funny when you think about it...All that paperwork that was so supremely valuable during the year being jettisoned in a heartbeat-- and with a heartfelt FUCK YOU!! Good chapter, Joe. Hopefully, I'll be back home when Chapter 30 is posted.

Congrats, Johnny! I was wondering what your avatar was. Finished reading Ch. 29 last night before I dozed off. Refreshing and laid back but I'm still too tired to think right now so maybe later.

Thanks Joe! The anticipation will get me through my physical therapy this morning.

With all due respect, I think that I need the break a lot more than Jack does. Jeez, what a week! Anyway Joe, thanks in advance for the new chapter. I agree with others that the heavy sex scenes are somewhat less than necessary. It got to the point where I was skimming over them to get back to the story. Heavy sexual tension, however, is always welcome. Jack,Kayla and Tara? Amanda and Sam? Joe and Sam? Allan and Jessica? Jack and Ms. Cartwright? Plenty of possibilities there. Be interesting to see who all goes to the cabin this summer.

Thanks for reminding me. I need to catch up on that story.

Yeah, just finished PT for the day. I'm aching and sweaty but learning how to put one foot in front of the other. One thing these places show you is that there are any number of people far worse off than you are. If you don't give all your effort, then you only shame yourself.

Fantastic news, Johnny! We will keep the prayers coming.
