  1. Thank you, gentlemen. I have eight weeks of paid sick leave accumulated, so It should be sufficient
  2. "Things do not change, we change." -- Henry David Thoreau Finally got to read Chapter 28 yesterday. Went to the hospital last Tuesday for joint-replacement surgery (right hip) and now I'm in a rehab facility learning how to walk again. Hopefully, I'll be back home by mid-April. So-- good chapter, I think. Maybe though, Allan should make a sincere apology to Sam in front of the school one morning. That would go a long way to repairing his loser image and getting him noticed by possible girlfriends. Having said that, I am STILL not sold on Sam. Maybe it's his murky background, I don't know. I really enjoy Jack's conversations with Ms. Cartwright. I like the growing level of trust between them. I hope that Jack will admit to her that he was the one who witnessed Coach Walburns' suicide and that she will confide the story behind that angry phone call. Hope that everyone had a Happy Easter! I'm pretty sure it was better than mine.
  3. Don't worry about it being longer. It's not like you're boring us!
  4. NE Ohio. Slowly thawing out.
  5. Don't think so. Mike Harrison doesn't strike me as the kind of dad who hands out cars to his kids-- and certainly not after recent events. He's not going to give the twins anything. They will have to earn it.
  6. Something I just realized... If Alan does get a girlfriend then he'd better start driving. Since the series began I don't think either Alan or Amanda has been behind the wheel. Granted-- Jack has the job and a legitimate need for the third car, but you would think that fist fights would have broken out by now with three 16 year-olds in the house!
  7. Really? I don't know how things are now, but back in the Stone Age when I was in high school that just didn't happen-- a freshmen guy dating an upper-class, elite girl. Older guys would date younger girls but not the reverse. Besides, Jessica is friendly with Jack and Kayla now and that would go right out the window if she hooked up with Alan.
  8. A good chapter. My feeling is that Sam is just a little too good to be true. He reminds me of Carson in many ways. Nobody seems to know anything about him except that he's "the baseball guy." Although Jack seems to have signed off on him, I still think that Sam is trouble. Be interesting to see how this wraps up.
  9. Thank you, sir! Been here since Joe switched from the old forum but never got around to making it official (and I love having a cool avatar). If I may say so, your comments on this story are the ones I always pay attention to. And of course, YOU got the 1,000th post-- not me. Congrats.
  10. Nothing to say, I just wanted to get the 1,000th post.
  11. Another excuse to put off doing my taxes. Thanks, Joe!
