    Well, my job’s 40 hr/wk, pays decently that I’m not hurting for funds, and I’m single w/o kids, so yeah, I can devote time to writing

    Every OS has its virtues, some things can be easier in one or the other.  Privacy/security being different between the two.  Once I know how I’ll pay for it, I’m thinking about creating another desktop, so I’d have separate dedicated windows and a linux machines.

    Aw, well, the management will get worse as I understand it, severe budget cuts are in for NOAA (who run the national weather service).

    I *updated* away from Windows a while ago.  (Though I’ll switch over, from time to time, if I need to play a game...)
