A good resolution would be to finish one of the stories I’ve already started.  (Though I’m not sure, my mind’s already diving into the sequel to my holiday fic.)

BW, convert your money to British, then you can most definitely lose 25 pounds!  (Likely the cheaper way to keep the resolution too )

Oh yes.  can definitly see the hoofprints ofm the dymanic duo here.  Very nice story.  Thankfully no cliffhanger just a well written story.  Would ask for another chapter to see what the attorney did to the PD but would rather see another chapter of SITG.

aww thanx rescue, not sure we’ll do another chapter, let everyone’s imagination deal with the PD, it was actually just a way to mess with them having sex

Enjoyed this story.  Agree that Mike is a nerd and great that he did not feel pain.
Like that Tiff was a doctor in training.  Reminds me of the statement that Liz was going to be training to be a doctor before the lastest set back with Sreve.
Like the small cliffhanger that Mike told Tiff that Santa had a surprise for her on Christmas Day.
Also like the way that you did get Santa in the story as the one who witnessed the attack on Mike and have Tiff a ride to Mike's on Christmas Eve.
Would like to see a second chapter to see what the lawyer does to the NYPD.
Is a great story and keep up the great story telling.

Magus made the Tiffany character, he likes kind of mixing me and Lizzie up when he does LOL
and Santa is supposedly the one who bumps into Mike at the beginning of the story too
so we actually kind of went around and around on the “surprise” Steve wanted to have him propose to her but I told him it was too early in their relationship so we just sort of left it out there like the police thing to let the reader fill in the blanks

JayDee, if you’re coming from word 2000, I suspect libreoffice is closer to what you’re used to than the latest offering in Word.
While I’ve been shifting from LibreOffice to LaTeX, I still recommend Libreoffice. (LaTeX has a learning curve with way less GUI).

We can consider a like/dislike to be an express review, but we’ve seen how that system can be abused.   (ie, downvote for spite, for whatever reason, being a pairing, a tag, another grudge or a blue moon).  Maybe we could add some buttons, you know, common review blurbs, that autostarts a review for the reader.  So a “+1” button could start a review that says “I like this.” prompting them to add in more before hitting that “Post Review” button.

It’s tough to get feedback.  My stories (ignoring the round robin), have 3 posted reviews, and those stories aren’t short either.  I did delete the old first story (that’s being replaced by three) earlier this year, and that IIRC, had 3-4 reviews.  And I’ve been on AFF for 2 ½ years.  So, to have a one review in a month, that’s better than my average.  The one thing I do, and it helps, is I record the hits about every day, and I plot them (libreoffice’s calc), and seeing the consistent jump after posting a chapter/episode does let me know that people are reading, and enjoying it enough to come back for another instalment.
Now, the round robins we’ve been starting to have, in 2015, and I’m pushing on the 2016, are good because they help give you a bit of exposure, perhaps pick up a new reader or two.

I like to think that every hit that doesn’t get a review is just a reader who was so captivated by the story that they were left speechless, so to speak...typeless(?)

Overall, Tcr, you’re in the right place, even if the feedback in Original>Misc is low.  I find AFF’s forums to be much more engaging than FB!   Keep writing.

Well, this is quite a few more replies than I expected to see.  :).  So, thanks :).
First off, in alphabetical order, because…  A little OCD or something, maybe…  Maybe I’m just a little nuts…  lol.
BW: I can hardly argue the supportive side  :).  After I posted, I took the advice of my beta and went looking through to see the reviews, better understand, and I notice that there are a lot of ones, at least in the F/F side (which is mostly what I write) are lacking.  So that did help to ease some.  I think a lot of the lack of motivation that I have right now is just everything piling up and burying me below stress, which will, hopefully, disappear after Christmas.  That stress, the addition of anxiety and a touch of depression are enough to ruin anyone.  (I think it doesn’t help when I’m ramming head against wall trying to get over the wall blocking the other side of a chapter, either ;), lol).
DP: Thanks for the advice.  I’ll have to start keeping track of the prints.  I always notice that there’s a few people (between five and ten) that seem to spike it within the first few days after putting a new thing up, but maybe I’ll have to keep track a little closer and see what that says.  It sounds like a contradiction, I know, when I say now that I know people are reading it (the prints alone are enough to say that there is, for sure, one person reading it), so I’m guessing someone out there likes it…  For now.  The self-doubt that I have just reared its ugly head in light of personal situations and stresses.
George: Well, been on here for seven months, yes.  Only posted my first (that is Blood and Honour (BaH)) within the last month (after about a year of subtle pushing from my beta).  I do agree, the fanfic side definitely has the advantages of having that built in audience and, certainly, because of that is likely to get both positive and negative reviews on a much larger scale.  The universe for a fanfic has been set, whereas one has to be developed for the original.  Thinking somewhat logically now and distanced from the overwhelmed feeling of yesterday, you make that excellent point.  Not to mention that, right now, (and, once again thinking logically) it’s the early chapters and the development is only just starting.  So, people may well be hesitant to want to review because of that, as well.

All in all, thank you all.  The inspiration and motivation is still below normal, but at least it’s there again.  I guess I just needed to let everything out.

So Lizzie called all laughing and crying and told me that basically Magus’s cancer is in remission. Not like a real remission since he has to still do his monthly chemo, but its stopped cold and not only is there no new growth, but it seems that they knocked it back some. Thank you guys for all the words of support and as you can imagine everyone is pretty happy here, I went across the hall to tell Mon and she went nuts, bet they heard her in the principal’s office LOL.
So as I write this, she’s on the phone to Steve, I think we all just got our christmas present early LOL.
I’ll be back later when I know more, thanks again everyone, I just know all the positive words of support and everyone keeping him in their thoughts and prayers helped

You can add more than a single story, so long as they fit the winter holiday theme. On or about the weekend of the 17th/18th, I’ll start the post in the archives.  If interested in contributing, please reply with your (archive) pen name, a title and a short description declaring your intent.  (If these are unknown, that’s fine.)

Ok, update on the lunch date which is still freaking me out a bit, but in a good way I guess.
Lizzie’s parents are in a guest room as I type this. They stayed the weekend and I have to say her mother has been nothing but nice, ok maybe we traded a few barbs but old habits are hard to break. But she seems to be really trying, she hugged me at lunch and in front of god and everyone she begged me to forgive her for all the crap she has put me through over the years while she cried in my arms. I was stunned to say the least and then I was a little paranoid, but she seems sincere and what was I gonna do, so I told her there was enough blame to go around and no apology needed. She asked if they could spend a little time with us and i blurt out why don’t you guys stay the weekend, I know right? Where the hell did that come from LOL
ok long story short, she was very sweet and holy crap if I don’t actually like the woman. I sure hope this isn’t a set up because Lizzie is so happy she can’t see straight LOL.
Well how this came about is evidently my best friend, in collusion with my father in law who always liked me, says I’m adorable, had a little talk with her. Not sure what was said, and Suzy won’t tell me, but its been a complete turn around. She still gives Steve sour looks now and again but she’s even nicer to him so I’m willing to accept it, but if this is some trick I’ll turn Lizzie into an orphan.
So anyway, thats our latest update on “The Lunch”
Sorry I waited so long to let you guys know but Steve has been kind of sad and withdrawn lately and we’ve been trying to cheer him up some, Think he’s worried about his check up on the first. He did have Chemo today and he’s not doing very well, not sure why it hit him so hard but Lizzie says he’ll be fine in a few days. I trust her but its hard to watch. Anyhow I’ll give an update when we find out what the MRI shows on the first
