The more stories I try to write, the harder the character creation process seems to get! I don’t want them to sound too much like each other (and since I’m almost always writing in first person, differentiating protagonist povs makes me cry fr). Maybe I’ll try that! Dude. Spinoffs are so much fun but idk if readers are that interested? I almost want to do them like tv shows: like Frasier is to Cheers, self-contained but interconnected. Might even experiment in different genres that suit different characters. If clear divisions start to appear in your stories, then splitting them is probably best! So I’m kind of feeling the shorter format and faster updates, and I’ve been having a good time with the rewrite so far. The new sex scenes are fun to write, lol. I actually wanted to put more of them in because I wasn’t sure if there was enough the first time, without dumping the story of course. Introducing all the main characters much faster this time too. I’ve also been harboring some plans for expanding the universe with other projects and maybe short stories – still ideating for that. Happy weekend!

PHEW. I think the scat tag scares readers off (but I could be wrong) and @Desiderius Price honestly, there’s probably two scenes like that in the whole book and I don’t describe the icky stuff either time, lol. I know it’s touchy for a lot of people though. So ultimately, I think I would just end up scaring off readers who don’t like scat and disappointing the readers who do!

Hey everybody, ready to discuss the uncomfortable technicalities of scat? I know I am! I just realized my story has an enema scene in one of the first chapters, but I never put the scat tag on my work. My reasoning at the time was that I never describe the err… Leavings, except maybe for someone to mention that the goddamn place needs to be cleaned up (because I can actually tolerate reading it to some extent but really can’t bring myself to write it). So what do you think? Is the implication of scat enough to warrant a scat tag? That got me thinking, anal itself is suggestive of scat even if we mostly leave it out!

Omg, am scrambling to get everything together for a comeback tomorrow (aiming for a weekly Friday or Saturday update, we’ll see) I think I’ve finally figured out what I want for this story. I am going for shorter, easier to digest chapters this time (in the 3k-5k range) because I realize not everyone has the time to sit down and take in an hour of reading at a time. Really want to make this user-friendly. I’ll also be doing the holiday specials as stand-alone short stories, because I don’t like how they break up the flow of the book (of course, I’ll link to them when they come out) The Human Rayce will become a trilogy, with the old chapter 26 now serving as the end of book 2, which means I’ll be powering through to write another book in the series and give it the finale it deserves. Hopefully, I can get some old readers and new ones along for the ride. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s update!

To be quite honest with you, it is mostly the earlier chapters that are bugging me, and I think hurting my chances of getting new readers. I hope to stay true to the original in terms of tone and content. I’ll be starting up again soon, with a better format. Chapter 26 is the end of book 2 (I’m going for a trilogy format) so expect a continuation soon(ish)! Is it bad that I thought PWP stood for ‘Pretty White People’ at first (although that is not an incorrect descriptor for a lot of erotica...) and had to look it up? Lol. My greenness is showing. I actually write the opposite, or at least try to. My work is all original and very fantasy/sci-fi based, so I try to put work into crafting the world, concepts and plot points. I mean, most of my time is spent writing YA fantasy, so that’s probably something that carried over into my erotica. I do porn WITH a plot because I enjoy reading porn with a plot, lol.

On a side note, I am now worried that there isn’t enough in my story, lol. I just love how I came here with one problem and walked away with another.
