  1. There's no use trying to analyze someone with so little data. It does seem attention-grabbing, but maybe it wasn't a "beat the shit out of you until you're senseless" kind of rape, and besides, people react differently, which is why the world is such a FUN place. She may have been acosted to some extent, and kept it to herself, which is way more likely. You are probably the first person she's told. I wouldn't worry about it after all, theres' nothing you can do.
  2. Sometimes, I think, just a faster passage to hell. Think I should remain wild and oblivious?
  3. It's a free country, I suppose. Perhaps the weight of many such criticisms are either going to break her or make her better. One way or the other. I think she'll leave. She seems the type that thinks its her way or the highway. The work belongs to the author until she publishes it. If it were her child, and dressed it in a tawdry manner, neglected to wipe its nose and sent it off into the world, and people gave her strange looks and others said, "Is this your child?" in that depricating way, well, you'd think she'd be properly chastised, but no, people like that, who defend their tawdriness have their children taken away eventually, don't they? and then, they live a life of bitterness... Did I take that a step too far? Nah, another 20yr old turned 14...
  4. I just watched the first eps last night, and so far, it seems okay. I thought they'd drag out the "Damn! you're a Girl!" thing for the entire series, so it was kind of strange that they found out right off the bat, so I'll check the rest of it out while I'm waiting for my daughter to burn the rest of One Piece. I didn't get the light-bulb thingy until it was explained to me. That guy blushed really really hard. I don't think I've seen a guy drawn like that before. Does Static Subs do high-school oriented stuff? Last thing I saw from them was orohime. I'm kind of curious about Utawareru Mono.
  5. (If you have not already checked it out) I really felt that I needed to explore yet another style of writing. I have already set up three other challenges for myself. Eventually they will all come to fruition. (original section) warnings: m/f oral Amanda's Folly Bascially, my main idea was to write an indirect description of what they were doing, yet at the same time, paint a picture in the reader's mind with a certain flavor attached to it. I think, for the most part, I have succeeded. It was rather strange, as if I was someone else in my head. But I assure you, it is, indeed, I who write such things.
  6. Being writers, I thought you'd be interested in this e-mail my sister sent me the other day. I nearly peed myself by the time I got to #12, and was wiping tears out of my eyes by the end. Have a great week!
  7. She is but a shy english major. No. Absolutely not. She can critique the work, tho. Think there's too many people to handle?
  8. because 6 would just take up too much material. Why?
  9. The one that just out of your reach! Is it possible to have watched too much anime for too long?
  10. Voyeur by Kim Carnes Kind of over-done, I suppose. Naughty girl. Have you any dance experience? Hope you've been practicing! I would hate for you to fall on your face. It takes a lot of chutzpah, you know.
  11. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
  12. I read the headline, ran into the livingroom shouting: "The Crocodile Guy is dead! The Crocodile Hunter Dude, he's dead!" My husband and my son both turned to look at me with blank expressions. "You know, the Australian Guy!" I remedied. "Crickey!" they both said at once.
  13. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/04092006/2/ente...stingray-s.html Poor blighter. Looks like he went down doing what he loves most.
  14. Good God! Now for some reason, I'm thinking, damn, we humans are a cocky bunch! We are mere insectoid life forms compared to the force behind it all, we may as well be discussing a wedding between two cockroaches! er, sry. It was an odd image.
  15. At times, I have this really twisted sense of the world....

    Unpopular Animes

No, you guys are just way too geeky for me. I thought I was bad. Could you describe the story lines? I remember starting to watch one or two, but if there were too many panty shots, I just didn't finish it. Also, if they are very old, I didn't start getting into anime until much later than the usual anime freak. When I first saw it, I didn't like it (too many repetitious moves, talking heads, no action) I thought the artists were lazy. The first one I really liked was The Vision of Escaflowne, and it was old when I started to get sucked into it.
  17. We were hiring a new employee from across the country, and for the first week or two, we put them up in our own home until they found their own place. Well, the guy, who was over 50, fat and had these piggy blue eyes had a chat addiction. My daughter glanced over his shoulder once (the computer was in the living room so everyone could have access), and he was pretending to be a 16 year old girl on line. I could never figure out why until much later (to chat with other 16 yr old girls, obviously!), I was just really really creeped out at the time. It turned out he was quite the charlatan, and we ended up firing him. (His documentation, was false). I've often wondered about him picking up 18 -25 yr old guys! *shudders*, but I ended up thinking: well, if that's the way chat is, he probably just picks up other 50 year old guys pretending to be 16. Trust me when I say, I would NEVER be caught dead in a chat room or stuff like that, and thank God I've never had anyone stalking me. My greatest worry now is my kids on Gaia. I don't think this sort of situation is unusual.
  18. You know, until the fillers began, I liked her. Remember when she cut her hair? Then her character was hi-jacked, as far as I was concerned. The focus went totally onto the Naruto/Saskatchewan (yeah, I know that's not how you spell it, but that's how it sounds!) fight. I got bored. In the Manga, it skips 3 years after that fight.
  19. RL publishers do not like their authors publishing on the net in any form. The one author that I know who does that, keeps her works separate.
  20. I understand totally. If I'm PMSing, I'm perfectly capable of going off on a rampage about the nit-pickiest things! I couldn't really define what I mean about "the soul" of the work either. I just meant that it really caught at me, inspite of itself. Not too many like that, mind you, but it did happen. Sometimes, when I see a lot of grammatical errors, I will say stuff like: "I'm not your teacher, go fix this before you post it again." re: search function: I use it when I'm looking for an author or (on occasion) story title. Otherwise, I just go to "Main Categories" That's enough to slice down the search for me. I've used the search option more lately, since the "favorites" still isn't working. The stories I'm reading I have on my explorer fav's
  21. Woo! Kakashi with anyone! He's so...so...(what's the word?)...suave. In fact, I'd say I'd have to keep him for myself, and do an SI with that one. If it ever happens...
  22. Me either, they kind of taste like dirt. I've never gone through a red light.
  23. when I was a newb, I edited a story like that (had a lot of chaps) since I had a complaint that I had "just plunged into it" without any explanation, so I put up a "prologue" which bumped all my other chapters back. It was weird. I'm not going to do that again. If I want to fix anything in my stories, I do it when updating a new chapter.
  24. I've read one or two that well, "I know what you mean" and I over-look the errors, (and there were a great deal of them) and just enjoy the story. Some poeple have great stories in them. You just have to look beyond the scratchings and see the soul of the work. One in particular that I'm thinking of, JDWheels who does Witch Hunter Robin fan fics, was difficult for me to get through, but his stuff was completely arousing. The junk was raw, but man, it gave me a high. His grammar has gotten better, but he's into a yuri jag that I just can't relate to, so I haven't really looked at his stuff for a while. Ce la vie. Perhaps, there is a certain charm to a young male writer that I cannot resist.
  25. the closest I ever got to chat, let alone RPing was watching my husband play backgammon online. It's too bad that you can't really see the person you're chatting with. It would save all this conjecture.
