yeah, we're living in a wind tunnel as the filters work away. the stress is relly high as insurance company is not in wed-thursday. no holiday this year, at best new years might be normal.

Well fans of the books and movies WANT that swashbucking swordplay... But really musketeers were the grunts, the infantry, and Dumas showed the bad ends of their ambitions in the Compte book. Iron Mask was book 3 or 4 depending on the edition. Romantic and skillful officers, ever gallant, are preferred over mere infantry.

I heard about this contest years ago, it's named for the author of some real dogs of first sentences of a story. You've heard his most famous phrase, used by Snoopy at his typewriter: "It was a dark and stormy night..." What I didn't know was that the contest is still going on! You can read many of the past winners at the site. The actual deadline for this year's award is in two weeks, but they accept entries year round so don't worry. They have multiple categories from adventure to romance to purple prose and the max entries a year is really high so I highly encourage people to take a look. Last year's winner was an engineer. Fiction opening contest (and let us know if you place!)

So did ours recently, but thanks to help from elsewhere, we were able to get a new one to replace the VERY old one.

We're going to check, but the budget won't allow replcaement until after fall as we may need a new circuit box too... It was a weekend of chaos and we're exhausted. (dryer/bank/circus issues)
