Vent to us, and lean on us all you need to. We might be an odd group, but we’re largely caring.

::hugs:: Waiting and not knowing is excruciating, and there isn’t a lot to say to make it any easier. I’m so very sorry you have to deal with this, and I sincerely hope the tests point to better news.

Ireland sounds pretty a pretty good option.  And who knew our boring politicians actually knew what they were doing?  Certainly not me, that’s for sure. lol

The funny thing is, I didn’t realise Australia is doing as well as it is.  I guess I just took it all for granted.

Politics in the US has gone to hell, politics in the UK gone to hell... I never thougjt I'd say this but I'm kind of proud of our mind numbingly boring politicians.

    That is brilliant!
As for me, I fear Bernie will never quite muster the people. He’s also not terribly good at sums, sadly, and has no conceivable way, even with much help, of paying for what he wants to do.
BUT Elizabeth Warren is both fiery and intelligent, and a thorn in the side of investment banks and other profitmongers, and Kristen Gillebrand fights for women, and children, and the elderly, and those people the shitgibbon wants to pretend don’t exist (largely because they don’t golf). The chances of two women taking the political reins here is remote, given the misogyny which rules our capitol, and large parts of the country, but by all the gods, were women in charge here, we could see some actual improvements. We need housekeeping, and who in their right mind leaves THAT to the men?

I was as delighted to see May handed a good thrashing as I was to see Macron take the election in France. May is as inept as the tangerine-faced shitgibbon we’ve inflicted on ourselves, whilst Le Pen was even more dangerous, in my considered opinion. I’m hoping Labour is allowed to form a government shortly, and take Britain back, as an example to us in 2018. My secret wish, in the depths of my black little heart? Trump in chains in 2017, and Warren and Gillebrand in 2020...

Clover, I love you and words!
A dogsbody is a British term for someone who does menial tasks, the sort of drudgery that you’d ask a junior intern to do.
And most days, my mother starts with a litany of all the things I must do for her, completely disregarding the fact that I have a husband, two kids, a dog, and a business, all in addition to my trying to actually make a name as a writer. It’s been nearly 21 years of this now, and I think I might have reached my limit with her this time. If she can’t handle things on her own, I’ll arrange for an aide to look after her next time I need to travel. I have neither the time nor the temperament to be what she wants me to be.

I’m intrigued by this ‘dogsbody’ word. Is it a noun? Are you a dogsbody? Am I a dogsbody?

The older I get, the more I see that my family members are human and flawed. They kinda suck actually  I know exactly what you mean… We live 10 minutes from my grandma and she’s been really sick. She’s in the same situation as me with my grandpa. He sits in his chair all day watching TV while Grandma runs around taking care of of their big house and their hyper dog. So she’s in and out of the hospital now and I’ve been going over to take care of her place. I’m doing shopping for 2 households, cleaning for 2, taking care of my 4 cats and grandma’s dog 3 times a day. I’m not working… So i thought I’d start trying to concentrate on writing… Thank god for google docs on my phone, that’s the only way I’m able to write constantly inbetween the hospital and grandma’s house and my apartment. I’m not sure what your business entails, but when family doesn’t support your ambitions, it’s doubly discouraging. and Oh god… When they guilt you to do things, it’s super annoying! Kudos on you for having mom move in with you. Jesus, I’m so glad to escape Grandpa at the end of the day. He barks orders at me and when I try to respond, I realize he’s not even wearing his hearing aid. I have to scream at him just to get him to understand what I’m trying to say...  I’m sorry I rambled on your status. I’m going away now!!!

For me, it’s mostly my mother. She’s playing helpless again, and making sure I know just how bad I am for doing something to grow my business, instead of staying home to wait on her. I told the daft one it was a bad idea to ask her to move in with us….

Yay! That’s so cute  I feel the same… My man child can’t cook or clean to save his life! I was super nieve when we started dated, and i thought household chores were shared! lol nope! it’s almost an inside joke now… At least he’s ok being the breadwinner
