To be fair, 10 years is probably a reasonable time to take to get over being exposed to one of my less socially acceptable stories.

Anne Rice has no room to complain. When you start earning royalties on the fanfiction then you’ve made it.  
That is a high compliment to have a good writer adapt your work! Funny how it took 10 years to see it, though. Mysterious.

Some domains are still pretty hectic. I got like 6000 hits on that not entirely serious Naruto oneshot in less than a month. My average is closer to 6 hits. And two of those are probably mods checking to see if a) Anybody’s getting disembowelled and b) it’s covered with the violence tags.
There’s definite waves of activity though around when college kids especially have less workloads on.

I can attest to things being a bit slower around AFF, but we tend to see ebbs and flows. We’ll see a lot more activity over the holidays, when people have more time off and find themselves inspired.

Nah, I think Orville was first although I haven’t got around to seeing that yet, heard it was pretty good tho! Of course, Red Dwarf had canon Mpreg back in the 1980s in terms of sci fi TV and there’s even earlier.

I thought Jodie was the 13th Doctor?! I mean, since they don’t include the War Doctor in the numbering. And Rowan Atkinson’s doctor was sadly only for comic relief (but for anyone who hasn’t seen The Curse of the Fatal Death it’s well worth seeing- I think the BBC has it on youtube). And the others were non-canon…
And humanoid aliens (and doing a lot of earth set episodes) is definitely a bit of a money saver, as well as being easier

yeah, but it was so broken it was breaking the story. I wrote enough on friday to make up half the amoutn I was behind. I’ve started NaNo as late as the 7th and finished on time, but i could type faster then. Thanks

More seriously, I’m focused more on this fanfic at the present, until I’m ready ready for a change.  That said, having a goal is a good idea, and as this is a bit of a rewrite, the 70k mark is likely reasonable and in line with the nanowrimo goal of 50k for a novel.  (I’m seeing enough of a jump in words on the rewrite that the existing draft is more like an outline in a lot of underdeveloped areas than actual prose.)

Given the rarity of reviews, I think it’s much more likely they’re rejoicing that they got a review.
