The new place is great. No leaking/rotted out ceiling collapsing. Is all that matters to me. The boys have their own room, and I have a bathtub to soak my messed up hip. May still be holding the different families together all the time, but I am not afraid to sleep at night.

Sorry to hear the craziness continues unabated.
But maybe the move is a good start in getting to a quieter, more productive time for you.

Mmm, you have a point, George. But this is more the “I’ve never...” bucket list. Another item on that list is “I’ve never broken a bone.” My plan is to keep that one on the list until I die. I just do not want to know how that feels.
But, at least now I know what the first signs of heatstroke feel like, and how to avoid getting it again.

IMO, your bucket list needs editing.

I have heaters AND air conditioning in the car. We have the most seriously schizophrenic weather in creation.

Our cars come with heaters instead of air conditioning  That’s how we survive… and want ice cream in -12°C

ROFL. In Iceland, anything above 7°C is t-shirt weather… when you hit 15°C it’s shorts, tank tops and laying around to try and get a tan… And ice cream…
...but, in Iceland ALL types of weather are ice cream weather… including -12°C snow storms… not including windchill factor… we like ice cream…

Well put it this way, a 15 degree day in winter would be frigging cold.  Not up north though.  It’s tropical weather up there with tropical heat all year round, but further south gets cold.  I don’t know if it’s ever dropped down to 10 during the day here, but if it did then I wouldn’t leave my bed let alone the house.

Oh, gods, no, I will come in the dead of winter, and still be running around in skirts and as near topless as possible, complaining about the friggin heat…
My friend and his girlfriend posted pictures of their daughter in a coat, hat and thick pants in July once, and my first thought was, “That child is going to melt from the heat!” but then realized it as the middle of winter for them… But then I googled the average heat for NSW that time of year, and realized that you Aussies must be like born with some kind of heat resistant coating, or something… Like fire proof from birth…

Maybe pick winter or autumn.  I wouldn’t recommend summer if you’ve not experienced 40 degree plus heat before.

ROFLMAO… yeah… I’ll have to work my way slowly down past the equator  but maybe some day, I’ll come and visit. I need to visit my friend Brett… maybe in time to attend his daughter’s wedding or something  (She’s 4 at the moment, I think)

32oS, at least that’s where I am.  Otherwise, the country is from 10oS to 43oS

All I remember of my heatstroke is vomiting out of the car window all the way home. lol  Before and after it is a blur.  At least if you come to Australia next time you’ll know what to expect. ;-) lol

Thankfully Yukiya-san got me to the health center before I actually started throwing up, so they could stop it before it went into full on heatstroke, I guess. So, it was more like a touch of heatstroke? But, still, enough for me to never want to try the full version of it… I’m just glad that Yukiya-san cares enough to realize that something was very wrong.

I should have realized it too, honestly, but it hit much more suddenly than I expected. I thought it happens in like a gradual build up, but this was just like from “Oh, man it’s kind of hot isn’t it?”  to “I’m pretty sure the world isn’t supposed to tilt in that direction...” within like 5 minutes…

I’ve had heatstroke.  Lots of vomiting involved.  There’s certainly better ways to spend the day.

But I like Hikaru-kun, she didn’t do anything wrong!
I was helping Yukiya-san with a video, after he helped me with my research study questionnaire, and we didn’t realize that it was noon, and really freaking hot… I started to feel dizzy and queasy when we were walking back to the cafeteria, and when I started to feel confused, Yukiya-san said “Ok, we’re going to the health center, right now.”
The health center lady made me eat salt and drink rehydration solution, and told me to drink more Pocari Sweat and Aquarius… Luckily Yukiya-san seemed to realize right away that there was something wrong, so it wasn’t serious. But it was still bad enough that I was feeling dizzy, nauseous, confused and my hand trembled… so, now I’m supposed to stay inside and take it easy…

I hope it lasts too.  Very tired of the work/sleep work/sleep work/sleep cycle.  With NO time for hardly anything else, except errands.
