There’s one that keeps getting in the tub here. It’s pretty much reached the point that when I lay the towel over the side it doesn’t run away anymore, just scoots straight up the towel and away again. Then, a few days later, he’s stuck anew and the towel has to go back on the side.

Really, there are so many possibilities! I think, however, my vote would have to be any large city. The sheer level of venal greed, corruption, insensitivity, dispassion and downright nastiness would be irresistible, I think. The financial district in NYC springs to mind immediately.

It’d be a toss up between a secular cemetary for the familiarity of dead folk everywhere, and a Ukulele Concert for the familiarity of the crushing sense of hopelessness and people who desperately want to be anywhere else.

@CloverReef Know the feeling. One of my cats has kidney disease, it’s a one way thing, diagnosed about a year and a half ago. Vet suggested more and more tests, and I did push back, with, “will this change the prognosis? Or help?” Based on the litter box, I know it’s progressing, that his time is limited, but I’ve had a warning, I’ve tried to make sure that he’s generally happy, and dreading that final day, but it won’t be as big of a shock as that first one was, because that first one, I wasn’t expecting, it was basically out of the blue to me. A side effect was that I had already had to start considering the burial vs cremation decision on the sick cat, pros and cons, so I did have a small head start when I did have to make that decision for the unexpected one.

Yay! I’m so glad. I’m nervous enough when I have to spend the night away from my furbabies, nevermind when its because they’re sick! One of my cats was at the vet for 3 nights. We finally took her home to die because they couldn’t figure out why she was so sick and we ran out of money to keep doing tests, and that was thirteen years ago. She’s still alive as fuck.
It must’ve been so stressful for you guys. Hope the heat is letting up a bit!
