  3. I think reviews are marvelous, and I love getting them. I'm also aware that most of my fandom works aren't in the more "popular" arenas, and the traffic past my little fics is meagre as best. How sad for me, but those are the breaks. Still, I'll write whether or not I get reviews. But they do make me very, very happy.

  6. ::spits coffee:: My brain, my brain! It hurts!
  7. Honestly, I don't mind if an author wants to write formulaic stuff. Just don't try and tell me that it's high art, or ask me to pay USD13 for the Kindle version of it.

  10. @Sarina: The issue seems to be that you have not yet finished validating, as you suspected. I'm not seeing a duplicate account for that pen name. Have you looked in your Spam folder or Junk folder to swee if the validation email is there? It will have come from anonymous@aff.nexcess.net.
  11. Trust me, given the quality of Patterson's books lately, we all should have let him kill off Alex Cross.
  12. The best thing to do is to use a standard disclaimer: "I do not own Rurouni Kenshin and I do not make a profit from this story."

  14. Sometimes a chapter needs to be that long. There might not be a good place to break off, or you want to finish that dramatic scene in one shot without a cliffie. There's no hard and fast rule. James Patterson writes short chapters and his books are formulaic and forgettable, aside from the distasteful fact that he review whores in public. George RR Martin writes long chapters and I can't put his books down. If an author can hold my attention for 10,000 words straight, that's brilliant.
  15. @Sarina: You need to give us the user name you registered with. You will most likely need to be merged if you've created two accounts, but without at least a user name, we can't help. I wouldn't recommend post an email address in a public forum, however.

  17. My musical choices change depending on what I'm writing. If I'm writing something tender and romantic, Josh Groban never fails. I head for the baroques for the tearjerker parts. and general writing can be anything from J-rock to classic rock.

  19. @QueenOfChaos: Let us know the titles of the fics and we can check them. We do review all hidden stories weekly and if they are corrected we restore them, but if you let us know via email at tos_team@adult-fanfiction.org, we can restore them sooner.
