  1. Malwarebytes is terrific at removing problems, and I use it for monthly scans for malware. I still keep an antivirus running at all times to help prevent the malware from gaining access. Multiple layers of defense... There are times when DemonGoddess061 is running utilities on the forum, routine maintenance sorts of things, and that can cause some issues with posting. They tend to be early in the day or late at night, and should end when the maintenance finishes.
  2. BittersweetAlias I'm not seeing that story here, nor am I seeing any staff action regarding it here.
  3. Oh, my! I was simply curious because I did work for Bankers Trust in NYC for several years, while my sister worked first at BT NYC and then at London Branch. I actually worked in what was called the Deutsche Bank building, after Deutsche bought BT. As far as AFF, we haven't changed anything with respect to how the database functions, so I don't think it's us. I will say that McAfee is probably bottom of my list for antivirus programs. I've found McAfee misses a great deal. Kapersky is very good if you are willing to pay for an antivirus program. If you prefer a free program, Antivir's Avira has been very reliable. You should be able to create a working Word file with the method you're using. Have you considered a freeware office suite like LibreOffice? I use that as well as Office 2010, and the .odt format is stable and has a smaller file size, which generally indicates less hidden coding. The word processor in LibreOffice is very easy to use, and reminds me of older versions of Word, with a simpler menu bar at the top. Aside from that, perhaps our tech admin will be able to help, or perhaps magus can email you the chapters rather than you having to copy and paste them. I know editing in .pdf is mindnumbingly awful.
  4. It doesn't sound like it's an AFF issue if you're just doing a copy and paste of the chapter text. I'm pretty sure magus isn't burying some arcane Word-killing html in the chapters, or at least not on purpose. Try recopying one chapter and see if it works. I'd do a recent one, since this is a new issue. And I have to ask... did you work for BT? You can tell me to stop being incurably curious, but I worked for them in NYC, hence my asking.
  5. I was able to locate a forum profile for this author, but there is no current archive profile. I'm not showing any staff action in deleting this account. I wish I could tell you more, but that's all I'm finding. Sorry!
  6. Thank you. That let us identify the account: Angel Please verify that this is the account, and that you wish us to delete it, along with all the stories and reviews associated with the account. Deletion is irrevocable, and once we delete data, it can't be retrieved, which is why we tend to be very careful about these requests.
  7. There's no policy of removing stories even if they haven't been updated in years. However, without a little more to go on, I can't look into this to see if there was any staff action with regard to this story, or if it may have been removed by the author, which does happen.
  8. The email address you've provided isn't returning an account. We have several accounts with that pen name. Is there anything you can think of that would pin it down for us?
  9. For Surrender: Thank you! I'm extremely glad I didn't freak you out too badly. And what a wonderful compliment you've given me, to say my writing is beautifully erotic! That's a very high compliment coming from a writer whose work I enjoy, and who writes characters so realistic that I'm green with envy. Thank you again! You've made my day!
  10. I always try to answer reviews, boyo. Leave me one, and I'll answer.
  11. How exactly are you accessing the stories? Do you have them saved for offline reading? If so, how did you save them and in what format?
  12. For Surrender: I actually have Seaquist in my family line, certainly doesn't bear thinking about too closely. But thank you, both for reading, and for reviewing! I seem to be developing a bloodthirsty streak, and I'm not entirely unhappy about that. I don't do fluffy all that well anyway. I do hope to be playing in the prompts more often, yes, so let's hope! Thanks again!
  13. This FAQ steps out exactly how to register under the new archive code. Just follow each step exactly as explained, and it should be fine. Of course, if you run into any issues, please let us know, and we'll help you sort it out.
