Watching a terrible fantasy tv show about elves made me want to write an elven epic fantasy as if I can do it better. Sometimes my own ego surprises me.

(And now I want to write a side piece to a short story of mine for the holiday collection this year.)

That’s what I’ve done every round robin so far, placed the oneshot in my universe, as a sidebar to the other stories – or, in one case, it became a jumping off point for a whole, much bigger, story (Baby Shark → Dale’s Game).
