Our general take on cross-fandoms stories is that we allow them, but the various fandoms need to be disclaimed individually, and the story should be posted in the main fandom. Clear as mud, right? As an example, the main fandom is Supernatural, but some characters from Doctor Who, Roswell, and Torchwood are included. The story is posted in Supernatural, as an AU, and you would disclaim all the fandoms. If they can’t all fit in the disclaimer, you can note in the disclaimer that additional fandoms will be named in the chapter in which they first appear, and then just put an author’s note at the top of the chapter with the additional disclaimer.

Deadman started following Parody category?
-
I’m wondering if there’s a place for a general parody category or within a particular category. What I mean is, I’ve been thinking about an idea where I use a kind of porn premise for a fandom. Maybe the closest I can think of is a fanfic elsewhere that had an OC using a TV to mind control characters in a specific fandom. They weren’t limited to a particular fandom. They just used the same premise across multiple fandoms. Or would a story like that just be within the particular fandoms?

Is the plan still to have the next chapter be a bbc orgy? I’m excited for Lara to get her tattoo done afterwards if the plan hasn’t changed!

If you’re trying to do this as a registered user, you may have to activate the account first. If you’ve already activated and set the new cookie, and you get the age verification again, you have to go the root domain and refresh the cookie. The refresh is simple: go to https://www.adult-fanfiction.org and click yes. You won’t need to clear anything to refresh the cookie. To set the cookie the first time, this is how you do it: First thing, before you proceed. DO NOT use anonymous browsing for this part. You can go back to it afterwards. Be sure to do this from the main page: https://www.adult-fanfiction.org No matter WHICH browser, you must clear cache and cookies for ALL TIME. If you are using Apple products, you must clear cache in all your devices as the products link together. After doing the clear, close and restart your browser. Finally, you need to force refresh. (Press Ctrl+F5) That should fix the issues. You should be able to proceed once you do that. If you’re getting an error about activation, go to the register link and select the drop down option of “resend activation”. Remember, major software changes generally do require this sort of action. If, after all this, you’re still experiencing issues with the age verification, in Chrome/Edge, press F12 to access the console. You’ll see the exact error being generated. Let us know what it is. If you are experiencing bugs, please post them to the bug tracker. What we will need from you are specific steps you took to get the error, and screen shots if you are able. This will help in getting everything fixed, if there are bugs.

Honestly, there aren’t a lot of members who would deliberately game the system. We did have some in the past, but they tended to also demand reviews and indulge in other objectionable behaviors. I’m not going to say that an author shouldn’t fix a glaring typo, or formatting issue, simply to avoid bumping up a story. I think we can trust our members to not strive for front page dominance in an archive.

Hello, BronxWench and all. Yikes! I wouldn’t knowingly “tweak” or fix errors just to bump a story up, either. And, up until the (truly welcome and awesome) Great Fix, the archive didn’t work like that. But now it does. 😮 What kind of “leeway” will be involved here? Obviously someone deliberately “gaming” the system isn’t cool. But does an author need to ignore a newly discovered yet potentially glaring typo, plot-hole, etc until they “unblock” themselves and post a new chapter, no matter how long that time might be? Thanks in advance, whatever your guidance might be.
