  1. http://www.theawl.com/2013/06/dox-dox-dox Everyone should read this article. It is long but holds great truth about the modern writing industry's loss of clout over a decade..
  2. Been such a busy year over here that I’ve barely even had time to visit this site. I moved into a new place among other drastic changes.

Sometimes I wonder what the gods are planning for us when they drop this sort of thing on us.

      and hang in there...

Thanks for the link Disiderius Price.

Bronx, I am looking at it as a purge year. The craziness has done much to clean out drama queens and negative folks that leach off others. So the Temple will be in far better stead with their ilk gone. Plus the temple can be in a better placement in the new bungalow place since we have a huge yard.

  3. Doing another dog/house sitting job. Waiting on results for the medical exam I got a couple days ago. For once things are bearably quiet . . . Almost enough to make me paranoid because it’s quiet. Think I’ve gotten too used to crazy of late.

  4. Getting in  the last of the parts to overhaul the ‘92 Jeep I inherited. Cannot wait to get that messed up vehicle on blocks and tear the front end down and rebuild it the right way. May have lost most of our tools, but we did have our emergency tool stash safe here at home. Resetting the double axles will be a pain in the butt, yet I’m looking forward to the challenge.

  5. Good grief! Thank all that’s sacred for 2017 being over and done! I’m so freaking exhausted mentally, emotionally, and even physically after that insanity of a year!

2017 is a year I’m glad to have behind me. The gods know it was a disaster from start to finish.

Could not agree more if I tried. Reminds me of the Native American theory about the Age of Chaos where the world undergoes a massive shift that causes a lot of folks major grief and headaches. It’s part of the full Black Snake Prophesy stuff. The Age of Chaos is the make or break point for all life on land. So not a pleasant thought.

      Yeah, 2017 made 2016 look like 2015. :)

  6. Hope all the moms on here had a Happy Mother’s day yesterday. One of the kids I helped raise nabbed me for a Sushi Meal yesterday. Was great to spend time with her, since I hadn’t in 6 month. Really miss some of my heart adopted kids. They all grew up and got busy in their own lives.

I’m glad you had a wonderful day! :D

I had lunch with my son—we’d done the dinner thing a week early because crowds. But it was lovely to spend the afternoon with him, because his take on life is refreshingly different. :D

Wonderful to hear that you got to have a lovely meal with your boy. How’s he doing? How’s your daughter too? Are they doing well?

  7. I am so tired of looking for an editor who understands editing is not idea tossing! As if Wes and I don’t have a plethora of ideas already? We need someone who can tell the difference between showing and telling content, or lecturing paragraphs, not someone to take over the 100 plus chapters we need to get fixed and posted for fuck’s sake!

  8. I begin to suspect that people have lost their minds in this area. Late last night, a crazed streaker raced over my roof with police in hot pursuit, waking half the neighborhood. Seems there is some new drug out here that makes people hallucinate, strip, and even try to eat other people. Why??????

I hear you. I don’t know if the guy was good looking or not. Didn’t get a good look at him as it was dark out. He was scrawny from what I could see. Got the impression he was probably younger than my grown sons.

    3. GeorgeGlass

Kush, perhaps? It’s a problem where I live. And my wife (the social worker) says it’s very easy to get hold of a bad batch that can make you extra-crazy—or seriously ill. One day last month, the police had to take a dozen people from the park to the hospital because they got poisoned by the stuff.

    4. Kurahieiritr

      Kurahieiritr

I heard the cops talk about Flakka, so I looked it up online. Damned nasty drug from what I learned, George. The people strip and go crazy, and as they come down they try to go cannibal. The other top contender was bath salts according to the cops.

  9. My friend had knee replacement surgery, and we finally got the Jeep windshield replaced. Making progress is a good feeling. My friend’s finally on the mend and won’t be confined to a walker much longer.  For all the craziness in life, I’m feeling pretty good about the last couple of weeks now that they are done. Now to focus on the next thing on the must do list.

That’s wonderful news about your friend! And hooray to replacing the windshield.

It’s funny how the to-do list never gets shorter, though, isn’t it? But we persist!

@CloverReef  Musk things he can get us there in 100 years so maybe you’ll live long enough to see it since he’s leading a group of eccentric Billionaires in the charge for space since Governments have turned on science of late.

GeorgeGlass: Yes things are looking good for  now.

Bronx, I know the honey do list never ends . . . LMAO, Fix one thing and the next thing breaks. But it is nice to finally get a couple super major expensive repairs out of the way do\\for a while. Hehehe. Now I can go back to all the cheap fix stuff I been ignoring. :)

  10. My main computer died. Am stuck with the net hating backup dino until I can get the new machine into the shop and running again. oh well, at least I still have a computer for all the beta/editing stuff I do on the side.

    1. BronxWench

      BronxWench

Ugh, that is the WORST feeling in the world. I have a generally lobotomized laptop I can use if my computer acts up, but it’s sooo slow, and I can barely even write, let alone do anything else on it. I had to use it when my hard drive died earlier this year, until I could run out and get a new hard drive, replace the dead one, reinstall Windows 10 and all its updates, and then migrate all my data over from the old drive, which was readable still if I slaved it to the new drive. :bash:  A week of my life fixing that mess… Note to self: do not buy a computer with a Seagate hard drive. Pay to upgrade to a good Western Digital.

    2. Kurahieiritr

      Kurahieiritr

I hear you, and understand all about crap hard drives.  People give me the side eye for not buying a computer at all unless I know the hard drive company involved.  Frustrating as it is,  I do get a couple messages answered average before I’m kicked off line. Get back on and repeat.  The machine is really cramping my ability as a beta. I have to reboot the email program 5 times to get a meaty message to the writer. :( Still have some connection so I’m not going to bitch too much in the end. Though I am super frustrated at the speed problems.

  11. So darned busy still. Hope Everyone has a lovely Labor Day Holiday that celebrates it.

  12. Very long time no see. Things have been crazy. Lots of changes started in March. Been a rough year.

Same as last round, the elders all seem to be determined that they are dying as groups. Another married couple within 3 weeks of each other, and so forth has been the norm this year. Moving into a bigger place and other things also been on the catch up list.

    3. BronxWench

      BronxWench

Sorry to hear the craziness continues unabated. :(

But maybe the move is a good start in getting to a quieter, more productive time for you.

The new place is great. No leaking/rotted out ceiling collapsing. Is all that matters to me. The boys have their own room, and I have a bathtub to soak my messed up hip. May still be holding the different families together all the time, but I am not afraid to sleep at night.

  13. Well, been a while since I was able to get on here. Life is an inn for the imp of perverse meets Murphey’s law. Think I need a vacation from life these days.

I really wish it would. Doug committed Suicide with a sawed off shotgun this week. Helping his wife clean up is going to be gut churning. I’m so tired of this unpleasant suicide habit happening around me. It’s a sign that America’s going to shit hardcore no matter what the Wall street number crunchers keep yapping.

Thanks, and I know it better than most. Trump’s America is mostly part time jobs and not much else. Most families are a single paycheck away from losing their homes and all sorts of crap. 2019 is a freaking nightmare for most people I know. 15 hour work weeks don’t work for people. Only for pathological lying government morons.

  14. Wowsers! I’ve been gone a while and totally missed all the new stuff happening on here. Whole new look for the forums it seems. If only I had enough time and felt good enough to go exploring beyond the main fall update. :)

  15. **Headdesk X 10** Futility is taking on an all new meaning! Perhaps I am in over my head. Wish the proverbial rock and hard place will mercifully smash me to bits so I can be done with this mess!

  16. *Head desk x5* I have no idea why, yet my muse has gone into deep cave hiding. Looks like I must use Japanese mythology to get it out of the cave now. Even my vile lil plot bunnies are limp for the first time in 5 years. :( So disgusted right now.

  17. *Headdesk* x 5. Nothing like depression to totally derail the artisitic/creative mind.

  18. About halfway back to human again. Crossing my fingers that by tomorrow I will be well enough to not fall asleep after 45 minutes so I can get back to my duties.

Trying to get better over here. It is something of a touch and go process when my cardio system whacks completely out. Haven't had an attack this severe in a couple years to be honest. This one took me completely by surprise.

  19. Added two more chapters to Alternate Tracks today. Also manage to force FFnet to accept a redirect to tmy stories getting moved to this site. Also announced it on my live journal and Deviant Art as to where things are moving. Will see who all comes to read my smut now. :)

It is not a true link, but I can get the HTML tag to at least allow the actual address to show after 4 hours of fighting nonstop. ROFL. The main story short cuts only show up by adding spaces between sections to redirect people to this site. example: adult fan fiction .net is how I typed it up.

  20. After almost a full month of being so sick I could not stand myself, I am finally on the mend it seems. Crossing fingers, toes, and eyes so to speak. Gotta get my right hand back to full function so I can clean up the kitchen after my long hiatus.

Thanks so much for all the good vibes. I miss everyone so much of late. AFF is my sanity!

  21. After so long stressed out, and dried up, my plot bunnies poked their heads out of hybernation. I found myself pounding on my keyboard. Was great to feel my shoulders unlock as words appeared, others chasing hard on their heels.

Thanks for the hug and sending one right back to you, Bronx. Writing compulsively has long been my pressure valve release, so I have been getting Muscle locked and stressed out for quite some time. :) When my shoulder blades suddenly unlocked and dropped last night I thought I was going to feint for a few minutes. ROFL.

It's a good feeling, isn't it? I'm cleaning up my NaNo and fixing all the stuff that's desperately wrong, and I love it. :D

      Awesome. Let me know if you decide to post it here so I can get some decent eye candy to enjoy. :) I've been too broke to feed much of my reading habit this year with all the craziness I was fixing everywhere. :{

  22. After thinking it over, I have put in a beta request for my novel series. I am hoping to find someone who has some Japanese knowledge to get the incorrect words fixed in my dialogue.

  23. Almost done with loading all the "All For Love" Novel chapters. Have 49 of them posted as of now. Strupid Mega-novels I write are such a pain to move.

  24. Amazing how typing 4 raw pages shifted my mood so dramatically! I feel semi-normal again.

  25. Apartment hunting is exhausting, and time consuming.
